Nearly 400 entries I think, with 30 plus cars entered for most races.

I have a room booked at the Premier Inn (Green Man) for Friday 15th, immediately prior to the first day of this meeting.
No longer participating as car not ready , so can anyone else take advantage of the pre-booked price of £35? PM me if interested. |

Brian,
I see you are listed driving an Alfa Giulietta Sprint Veloce Zagato, presumably the car that is not ready. Sounds very interesting ... there has not been one of these very rare cars on the track in the UK in the last 25 years, though Frank Sytner did own one that he intended to race ... can you let me know the chassis number ? PM if you like. Thanks, Nick |

Yes - rare indeed. Silverstone was to be it's grand debut, but this will have to wait until Snett in June. I've sent you a PM with some info |

Very good first day, excellent entries and some good racing.
The pre 80 endurance race tomorrow should be a cracker, as will the GTSCC. Hardly any crowd and still the best value meeting for spectators. |

This was a fabulous meeting with unexpectedly good weather for Silverstone in May ... I froze here at the same meet in 2013. Mainly good grids, some very close racing and not too much in the way of bumps and dents, on the Saturday I was there.
The Historic Road Sports teamed up with FiSCAR and fielded 39 for Practise and 36 on the grid for a 30 min, compulsory pit-stop race. Only a couple of driver changes, all the other competitors ran it as single driver. Cars got weighed after Practise resulting in a couple of red faces and one exclusion after the provisional results were published. The first time I raced in 2013 on the GP circuit with the new section from the Wing to Wellington straight, I did not get to grips with it at all. Saturday was different, got the secret, and the Chev Camaro finished 7th overall and 3rd in Class A after the Morgan Plus 8s. Good driving standards and as always a v. friendly bunch to race with. Did anyone take any pictures to post on here ? Nick |

Enjoyed both days.
Spent Saturday shooting around the circuit, Sunday was wandering the garages and paddock plus time on the Luffield terrace. Took far too many photos on Saturday, managed the shutter count better yesterday. I will post some pictures during the week, once I have been through them all |

Zef,
Murph had to cancel out of the co-drive for a very understandable reason, so the timekeeping sheets carried his name, but I did a solo drive. Justin's pretty miffed as you might imagine. Nick |

I went on the Sunday and some good racing to be seen. A bit chilly but pleasant when the wind dropped. The only problem with Silverstone and a relatively long lap is that during the pitstop races it's difficult to keep track of positions.
Brilliant win for Richard Evans in the Derek Bell Trophy after a puncture on Saturday - back of a large grid to first in 3 laps! |
