Bargs signs long term
On the Official V8 website LMS has announced that Bargs has signed a long term deal of up to 5 years. Great news for Bargs and the team. More continuity and more speed.

Good news! He is a talented driver and exactly what LMS needs to bring them to the front of the grid. Congrats to all parties involved!

He must have seen some good things and ecognised that the team could really go somewhere in the short time he has been there, like the SBR engine deal for starters.

LMS is starting stack up as a viable proposition....
Bargs is hungry, the cars look really good, go fast. It would be fantastic to see LMS do well, given their (ML's mainly) commitment to the V8 series. With their 1970's GT Stripes and all, they look like delivering some sort of meaningful, retrospective impact for the Blue Oval. |

And if they eventually get Caltex onboard as a support sponsor, it will be another potential race-winning team on the roster

Bargs was the unsung hero of 03 - finishing 13th or something whilst driving most of the year in the AU barge. And apart from his one-lap-brain-snap at Bathurst, he showed great maturity.
With SBR horsepower, Bargs is a big chance to pull off some wins this year. Man, I hope he does for Larko. The best looking cars and the nicest blokes in the business - GO LMS in 04!!! |

That is good news for LMS and Orrcon in 2004.Bargs will really show what he is worth. GT Magic, the comment about Caltex support is interesting where does that come from?

Mark Winterbottom has been supported by Caltex Havoline in his FF and Konica campaigns.
It is not unreasonable to assume that a commercial arrangement could not be undertaken between Caltex and LMS for the supply of product, and perhaps cash, given the previous arrangements, especially when Larko currently has no other oil partner aboard! |

Motion,
Or that a vested interest lies somewhere between an admiration for Winterbottom, an awareness of SBR's importance to same, a love of the sport in a general sense with a proclivity towards the Blue Oval and a shareholding in Caltex?? Last edited by Mattracer; 14 Mar 2004 at 10:58. |

I think that this may be the rise of LMS as a major force to be reckoned with. To me Larkham is a better manager than driver and focusing completely on the team is going to help. SBR engines, Orrcon dollars and two good drivers; you can't get any better for now. This will definately be a team to watch with interest over the next year to see if the potential translates to success.

Isn't it good to so many positive responses in this thread towards a team that has struggled for many years, but would appear to pretty well liked & respected by red & blue supporters alike.
Pity there cant be more of these positive feedbacks for other threads. Cheers |

I also see that Orrcon Racing have a new web page at www.orrconracing.com which is very slick and informative.
I just get the feeling that the team is back in a very professional way and doing the little things that they haven't been able to do in the past few years. |
