Why 2 day meetings??

Ok, Iwas meant to be marshalling at Thruxton, I got through the final instructions... 5 quailfying sessions on Sunday and 5 races on Monday (no action until 12:45).

There is absolutely no need for it to be a two day meeting - you can easily run 9 practice sessions and 9 races in one day at most circuits, but ok, some of the races are a bit longer on the BTCC package...

So I'm not marshalling at BTCC this year, does the diluted package put others off??

Free practice on Sunday morning (3 BTCC sessions, each 45 mins long).. Hour and a bit for lunch, then 5 timed sessions..

Absolutley nothing on Monday morning, then racing starts at 12:45 - 5 races thereafter.. and that costs you 20 quid!!

There's rarely racing on at Thruxton in the morning. Isn't ther some clause in the circuit licence that says you can't start any engines on race day before 12:00.

No Race engines B4 10.30 on a Sunday, there is a reason why a part of the circuit is called church!! Yes for those that did not realise the village church is very near the circuit. Once the sunday service is over the cars can get started!.

The BTCC events involve a lot of people and cars, I dont think it could run smootly all crammed into one day!!

Personally I don't want it all crammed into one day.

I like to have time to natter to mates (drivers as well as other fans), take some pictures and wander about.

Race day is glued to my seat with my lap charts.

I always feel cheated (somewhat) at Snetterton.

Yuo can have race engines before 10:30, but not whilst the service is on, 9:30 - 10:30.. hence why you sometimes get one practice session then a break for an hour..

I don't think there's too many cars, 750 MC race days run 11 races with well over 300 cars present.. just a case of too many important people slowing it down, and it's an international meeting - so there's procedures for everthing...
