I shall be at Cadwell Park on Sunday, our other unit is up in Scotland for what is IMHO the second best rally in the world. (No I don't mean the G8 ones)

I'll be at Brands for the Mini Festival. Two whole days of Mini's (ok plus a few others on the Saturday)!!! Been looking forward to this one since the availability form came through in those dark winter days... Might set the video for the highlights of Bernie's Circus I suppose. Then I can just fast forward through the dull bits {insert own joke here}.

Well I happen to like F1, and I will be at Sliverstone enjoying it, so I choose not to denigrate others who have other preferences

F1 one go shove it's self up it's own a**e.

I have no interest in it since the Indy fiasco.

Have to admit it was quite interesting up till thne though.

I'll be at Brands on Saturday. My arm's not up to 2 days yet! If I've got nothing better to do I may watch the GP. It's such a shame that F1 seems to have this in-built trait of self-destruction. It should be the pinacle of our sport, but sadly several of us have become cynical of anything FIA. The vast majority of the great unwashed think that F1 IS motorsport, and the BTCC is just a clubbie with attitude....

I've not done Bernie's circus for the last six years due to the amount of B*** S*** there was the last time i did it. And i don't expect the B*** S*** has decreased in the years i've been away, it has probally got worse.

Well I am in a bit of a muddle!

I've just found out I can't do the Anglesey meeting NEXT weekend, and I hadn't got anything planned for THIS weekend!

Now, should I turn up at Cadwell-somewhere I've never been before and would really like to visit, or, should I go to Mallory?

Unlike Ian & Nadine, I don't have any friends so a BBQ is out of the question and I don't have a fishing rod so no-go there as well!

I Will be at Mallory to see some real racing with real racing drivers, not like those prima donna's in Bernies circus.

I was once told that if you cant say anything positive then its best left unsaid, but I need to say this. I am pleased that some of the contributers to this thread are not going to the Grand Prix this weekend as I dont think I would want to spend time with them.
Whilst many of us may prefer to attend club type meetings and we may disagree with the way F1 is operated and the people that run it.
It would do the sport and marshals in general no good whatsoever if we were seen to be the reason why this event could not take place. Many thousands will attend the meeting and some may enjoy it enough to attend some of the clubs meetings in future.
So if you dont want to attend dont but please dont ridicule those that do for just one weekend in the year.

Well, I'm off to Mallory too. I was surprised when the passes arrived as I couldn't remember why I'd volunteered. Once I realized it was GP week-end i realized. Sorry Gridlock, I understand your point, even agree with a lot of it, but

is only my concern if we're being paid to be there. As long as we're volunteers (and long may it remain so) then I'm voting with my feet, and my feet don't want to give up their time and considerable cost to support the mega-buck insular business that is F1. Bernie is quite happy for his events to be staffed by beginners in places such as Dubai, so I don't imagine my absence is going to worry him unduly, any more than missing it on tv is going to spoil my week-end.
