De Ferran wins
Gil de Ferran has won the nashville race with a great drive over Scott dixon.
wasnt a bad event with some good drives coming from the usual suspects including Takagi,Hornish and the penske boys as well as Dixon. Barron in his return drive also did pretty well , a shame he couldnt convert his chance into back to back victories as he won there last year. not a bad race at all and should tighten up the points a bit (allthough i havent looked at them yet). |

I wasn't watching, of course, so I don't know whether or not Paul Page was there. The last time I checked, he was doing play-by-play at the dog trials, which sends me to tears every time. I wish he could be that eloquent a broadcaster at races! I mean, if you can make a Jack Russell terrier heeling on a podium for five seconds sound stirring, why are the IRL telecasts so awful?

Stayed up till 1am to watch the live coverage from Sky Sports and while the race was great stuff (another stella drive from Sam The Man) the sudio presentation was criminal with some girl who obviously knew as much about the IRL as I do about embroidery. I dont want to be too hard on the poor girl but surely Sky could have found someone with at least a passing knowledge of motorsport. The two studio guests were nearly as bad, one of 'em looked like he was on drugs. Thankfuly the main feed came from US tv so the race commentary was spot on. Good work fellas! Did anyone else see the Sky coverage and spend half the time cringeing behind the settee like me?

What was so bad about the studio people on SS? I think she did a good job as presenter. Keith Heuwen is no better and often spews out mis-informed drivel about the IRL.

Wot was so bad about it? How long have you got? The only thing in that dozy birds favour was she's easier on the eye than Jim Rosenthal but there's not much in it.
