Team Owners (Closed)
their seem to be alot of Team Owners who can't keep their ego's in check.
At the cost of their race team they insist on getting inside the car and causing disaster then getting out of the car like nobody's business. Number One Suspect: Paul Drayson: his team lost multiple races due to his driving and almost didnt win at road america Seth Neiman: flying Lizard Motorsports lost the Team and Manufacturers championships for flying L and porsche because of seth neiman thinks he can drive. (You have to wonder what his motivation is for obviously making the car of no use to the entire team.) If flying Lizard Motorsport called up Porsche and said we want Timo Bernhard and Romain dumas in the #44 Flying lizard Porsche they would get both guys for free. the factory drivers get paid buy porsche not flying lizard motorsports. What is going on here. Scott Tucker: Wreaked havoc among the top GT2 teams for his slow driving no doubt boiling over at Road America when he caused the BMW to brake in front of a Porsche an get destroyed instantly.(Bill Auberlen broken rib eventually). Nick Leventis- HAs Destroyed that HPD ARX-O1c multiple times. And almost ruined their LeMans bid by parking the car in a gravel Trap under a Safety Car Who are some other questionable team owners- Keep in mind all of these guys can cough off the dough to get a top driver in their car without lifting a finger yet they chose to sabotage their own team by stepping in their own car. It all get really awkward and grey their because its one thing when the team tells a johnny cocker or a darren law or bouchut that they are need to step it up or be off the team but how about telling that to they guy that pays for your job ex. Leventis, Drayson, Neiman, Tucker |

It's their team and their money, if they want to drive they can do it. If you don't like it, don't root for them or pony up the cash to fund a team of pro drivers yourself.

How can you write this so many times and still miss the point? They OWN the race team. It exists because they want to race. No team owner racing - no team.

O.K. How can you obviously having read the whole post not understand that i am saying that i don;t care if they own the race team. You create a race team to win and nothing else. You can create your Dead-Eye Formula 1 team and higher Nick Leventis and Seth Neiman to drive but im going to create mine and higher Fernando Alonso and Robert Kubica. Good Day

And you make this seem like tere is no issue here. their is im not going to put my allan Mcnish on the same track as Nick Leventis so that he can spear off the race track and be sidelined for the rest of the season. Inexperienced people are causing accidents that don;t need to happen

Professional drivers also mess up and cause accidents that don't need to happen, It's called racing and you deal with it.

This sentence shows that you have completely missed the point of gentlemen/sportsmen drivers, which is what these team owners are. Without the fact that they are prepared to invest in the running of a team, grids would be much much smaller in size. This is not F1, sportscar racing is as much about the big manufacturers as it is about the little guys, the pure enthusiasts who go racing just for the fun of it and to chase a dream.

How short sighted? Has it not occurred to you that the people you mention have created the Race Team because they want to RACE THEMSELVES? I take it you are familiar with the term 'Gentleman Driver'?
It is obvious from your username where your affiliation lies, and for that team, yes, Winning *IS* Everything and there is nothing else. For them, with their bottomless budgets it is easy to take that attitude. For these guys, Taking Part is the most important thing. Lord Drayson uses his racing to not only promote Greener Racing (his team have won the Green Challenge title at three events this year) but, during his time as a member of the UK Government, was touring schools promoting the benefits of studying engineering at an early age. I dont know as much about the other Team Owner/Drivers that you mention, but I am sure they do it as much for having fun as they do for having a chance of winning. But that is just my opinion, please don't let it get in the way of a good argument.... |

This thread serves no purpose at all - there isn't even the basis here for any kind of reasoned argument. The subject-matter has been debated in other threads many times before. Thread closed.
