Yes mika tried his best after the second pit stop but just could'nt(i wonder why?) match shumi who was at his best(does'nt that come naturally), too bad for mika maybe next year. Great job by the guys from maranello and three cheers for Shumi simply the best and I hope Sepang will be just as exciting! |

It was after th efirst pit stop
Sorry Stephen, but TGF won the race and the championship after the first stop, not the second. Basically, he reduced Mika's substantial lead to a second, then when Mika went in for his second stop, TGF put in some very hard effort to overhaul Mika's lead. Then because he had done a couple more laps, he needed less fuel in that second stop which meant that he had an even faster stop. All this was explained by M&M so I won't go into any more detail. Suffice to say that TGF's second stint was very clinical and accomplished, and he won the race already when he came out of the pits. In fact, the third stint was just stady running to the finish, except for a minor glitch at the second last lap. Altogether the better driver on the day won.

Totally agree with Valve Bounce.
You cant help but think that there was an element of luck in it. If there was no rain at Suzuka, Mika's car could have been faster than Michael. Great efforts by Michael, but I thought the pit stop strategies and the weather were the deciding factors. |

And those electrifying ten laps TGF put in before his second pit stop.

this race is so similar to this year's imola gp.
1st stop= michael puts more fuel and closes in to mika when 2nd stop is near.michael stays out a little longer on the second stint and puts less fuel and ended up having faster stop. mclaren use the same strategy as in imola and so did ferrari |

Mika can hold his head up today after a spectacular race. However, MS did prove to be slightly better in the damp conditions and he and Ferarri deserve everything they have now acomplished.

Luck??? the rain had the same affect on everyone, just that some drivers are better in damp conditions than others - that was the deciding factor - the better DRIVER won on the day. Congratulations Schumacher - great race and a well deserved championship. |

4.1 seconds is no easy gap to close up. Almost impossible under the damp conditions which MS is the king, with only 13 laps to go. |

I have to accept, weather I like him or not, that shumacher is the best driver nowdays, and off course, he´s the rainmaster, what a race for him, always running on mika´s heel´s then a great pit strategy, and the result? his thir world championship. Mika gave everything he had but it wasn´t enough, it was tough watching the race and the cameras showing tgf going out of pit lane meanwhile MK was just about to enter the chicane, but that´s the way it was, congratulations michael.
