Paul Morris at LDM

Okay, question:

What's Paul Morris' role at LDM?

I knew there was some sort of relationship brewing when the LDM cars were operating out of PMM garages at the test day, then he was announced co-driver, then a lot of his sponsors appeared on the cars.

At first it looked like it was just a co-driver with resources, who shares those resources-sort-of relationship.

But now he's always seen in LDM team garb and consulting constantly with Lucas...

(Just to be clear the second REC LDM are using was PURCHASED from PMM, not leased. So in no way does Morris have right of entry on REC grounds).

Be careful Dumbrell's. We're talking about a guy here that tried and failed to be a part of a sneaky attempt at taking over DJR last year (allegedly).

Not sure on the DJR thing, but if anyone was going to pull them out of the hole they're in, it would've been the Morris family. Anything can sound sinister and evil, when it's not what you want to hear, particularly when it comes to painting Mr Morris in a postive light. It would've been the most obvious solution.

In Regards to the LDM arrangement, quite clearly they were in need of someone of Mr Morris' experience in the game to get them heading in the right direction. They also needed personel with their two-car expansion, which Mr Morris provides, and backing, which Mr Morris also provides.

Whether there's a hidden agenda somewhere, who knows? Time will tell.

LDM has taken over the 'satellite' relationship that PMM previously had with Triple 8. Unsure why Paul is in the garage, but he does have a lot of experience with race teams and god knows Lucas needs all the help he can get.

Whether Morris is of any benefit - I don't know, but he can't do much worse.

As for the 'sneakiness' - two things. If Paul was looking to take control of LDM, he wouldn't have sold them his only valuable asset.

And 2 - if someone as rich as Morris couldn't take over an effectively bankrupted team (and I doubt that he did try) then how would he expect to take over a team backed by a family as wealthy as the Dumbrells.

If anything he should be in Tekno since he's leasing the #97 REC rather than the #88 REC which was bought out right by Luke.

It's not exactly a secret, I thought Paul Morris was hired by LDM to help with "strategy and stuff" and as a mentor to Scott Pye.
