Hazard has posted the season entry list rather than a Thruxton specific one. You're right about Team Air Cool not being there due to WTCC commitments.

Also no Jim Pocklington - http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=523 - the team are going to skip Thruxton to do more work on the car. It's probably the oldest, least developed car on the grid and I always thought Jim would do better than he has done so far.

Looks like Vauxhall are favourites; ballast and still quick. BMWs disappointing and it's a pity Jones isn't there, the Toledos are going pretty well.

Good showing by Jordan.

What happened to Jackson, I was expecting him to be higher up than that

It says a lot for Mat's form so far that 12th is seen as a disappointment for a rookie Indie driver in a rookie Indie family-run team.

The Integras have all done better than usual - this could be their big chance, especially considering the Dynamics results last year.

Turner did well, considering that the Seat's do not have the best aero, and on a high speed track such as Thruxton, i was expecting both Seats to be around where Plato is..

Roll on tomorrow!!

Re the BMW's, I wonder how long it'll be before the news stories stop going on the theme that they have great straight line speed and balance, they haven't won a race yet !

Suprised the works Seat's are that far up the grid, perhaps Turner was getting a tow off someone - Plato perhaps. I expected the best Leon to be around where Plato is.

I think the two to watch tomorrow could be Gareth Howell and Matt Allison in the Toledo's though, by Race 3 they could be in for a podium.

There's one thing for the Seats that they have great grip and traction. Considering all the high speed is on the bends then it will suit them. However agreed not the best aero out there - check the speed trap data out:

in mph:

Howell 130.1
Jordan 130.1
Turks 129.3
Jackson 129.3
Pickney 129.3
Turner 129.1
Giovannadi 128.8
Chilton 128.8
Onslow-Cole 128.8
Neal 128.3
Plato 128.3

Notably:

Giovanardi pulled off the circuit after the finish as he'd had high water temperatures for the last 5 laps.

Chilton suffered tyre problems.

Jordan was set for 2nd till a puncture lost him 8 places, crossing the line in 10th.

Mat Jackson and Gordon Shedden both retired on lap 1 with damage to their cars.

Plato's lead in the championship is now 13 points.

Has everyone forgotten about the BTCC this weekend, very quiet !

How lucky no-one was hurt when Kelvin Burt's Porsche flipped over the barriers. You could see from the TV pictures there were two spectators about 20 yards further up the path, yet Ben Edwards said at the end no one is allowed in that area.

Tell me about it, i've had non stop racing on all day. It's excellent.

I'm impressed ITV bothered showing Kelvin's shunt...

Kelvins shunt was quite terrible, I was amazed he was alright.

It was quite a shunt filled day at Thruxton to be honest...very scrappy.

I was at Thruxton today and that crash looked terrible first hand. I didn't catch what caused it but when I turned around and saw a Porsche cartwheeling out of sight into the trees my jaw dropped.

Thankfully they announced he was OK over the PA relatively quickly.

They wouldn't miss the opportunity to show a spectacular crash, no matter the series. At least Kravitz introduced it seriously rather than the 'let's hope there's more lunatic driving' tone he used at Brands.

Thought the racing was good and relatively clean. When they went five wide in a pack into the chicane I thought a pile-up was inevitable.

Looks like it's a two-way fight for the title, with plenty of others capable of sneaking wins.
