Klien Or Liuzzi?

I thought Klien was finished this season after yesterday and Liuzzi would be in the RB? Now I hear that Klien is definitely in for Spa and maybe more? Anyone else heard anything?

The story seems to be confirmed on a few sites.

In all honesty Liuzzi isn't in the same league as Klien. Yes, Liuzzi has the better pedigree prior to F1 but that's never been a given for success.

I've been moaning all season about how Red Bull should stop the musical chairs and let Klien race while Liuzzi is made third driver.

I think Red Bull would love to give that second seat to Liuzzi, because he's a dream image-wise. But while he isn't cutting it, they can't give him the seat on image alone. So I think they'll (or at least they should) give it Klien, who is at least a year further up the development path than Liuzzi. A more settled test role for Liuzzi might be his best option at the moment, with the promise of a drive when DC retires or Klien moves on.

I couldn't say who I think might be the best of these two drivers. And that's because we've hardly seen Liuzzi racing all year.

For all this talk that Liuzzi is Red Bull's favoured one we haven't seen him get many race opportunities. On the other hand, perhaps they are so likely to run him next year that they feel they don't need to try him out in more races.

I find it all quite odd. Does anyone know what the situation is with their respective contracts? I believe they signed contracts stipulating they were to share the drive, so that's fair enough, but what about a given number of races that they were each entitled to take part in?

In any case it's certainly Klien who's getting the race experience.

Liuzzi should get another chance this year .. after all . Klien got a second year .

As I recall, it is a "shared" drive, but with no actual guarantee of any races!

the best ideea is to re-test Liuzzi . they have enough points to stay ahead of Sauber .. so it makes sense for them to make sure they have the best choice for 2006

I can't understand why Red Bull like Liuzzi "image wise", I think he looks like a rat.

I think Liuzzi deserves another race this season. My believe is that he deserves as much a seat as Anthony Davidson deserves one. He is always very quick on a Friday!

He is quick, but he hasn't taken the minimal opportunity he has been offered so far to really show up well in a race. Yes a driver like Liuzzi (and Ant for that matter) deserves an extended opportunity, but that doesn't automatically mean he'll get one!

Unless they've already decided to race Klien next year, I can't see the logic in keeping Chrstian in the car for the rest of the season, they've got no chance of staying ahead of BAR and little chance of beign caught by Sauber, so they might as well plan for the future more thoroughly. Liuzzi's only done a handful of races, and certainly nothign to make me question the idea that he can be a race winner in future.

Liuzzi sort of has that cool young Red Bull image where as Klien does not. I somehow think Liuzzi will get it.

Klien gets my vote I believe him to be the better driver out of the two, and way better image.

I think Klien has driven quite well this year. Has also outqualified DC on a number of times.

I hope I'm wrong about this, but I have a feeling that RBR are keeping Klien in the car for as long as possible this season so they can drop him at the end of the year and say that he had enough races to prove himself whereas Liuzzi needs a race drive to prove himself.

Personally despite my previous posting i belive Klien is the better of the two today but image is important to Red Bull and it would not suprise me if they keep Liuzzi. I mean look what they have got Coultard to grow on his face. Mind you i dont think DC could ever be trendy.

Liuzzi's image is great! Just what Red Bull need.

If it was just about image a Klien-Liuzzi pairing would be best but DC is needed for the car development and race consistency.

I hope Klien gets the drive. Most improved driver of 2005, no doubt about it.

Liuzzi didn't really shine in his four races, was no where near DC. But they were his first four races. (But I recall a certain Klien dicing shamelessly with a certain Raikkonen in his THIRD race)

My thinking is that Red Bull have given Klien the opportunity to drive in Spa, based on the fact that he drove a brilliant qually and race there last year. Liuzzi will probably get the last three races, then Red Bull will decide. I doubt whether they have already made their decision, as Klien has impressed, and Liuzzi hasn't really had the chance yet. Brazil, Japan and China should be interesting....Probably the biggest test for Liuzzi would be Japan, as it is a real drivers circuit, and the good drivers are seperated from the rest....

Wasn't Klien way behind Webbe ron the grid at Spa last eyar, with Webber thorwing it away in the Eau Rouge on lap 1, and Klien inheriting 3 points through the other Michelin cars having problems?

I prefer Klien...but too be fair and like someone else mentioned, I don't think we've seen enough of Liuzzi in F1 this year to be able to judge him properly.
