Well I'm looking forward to the BGP!!!

Because I can have a few days off work, meet up with some old friends and have a good laugh at the F1 circus. And get as close to the action as anyone, the sport that I have followed for some 20 years and enjoyed every one of them!!

Heres to F1

and looking forward to Silverstone!!!!

I agre, the social side is great, meeting up with old friends, it's just the hanging around that gets me every year. How many times can you play I-Spy? Tickets should be arriving this week, see what delightful post I've got.

I'll be there too (ten-tenths badge already sewn on cos I had one of the originals hahaha)

Campsite is probably the same as the past two or three years and it's pretty good. The social side is always the best part of the weekend, that and mingling with the spectators and having a good laugh. Should find out any day now where I will be posted this year.

1st GP for me too.
Ten-tenths cap will be mounted on bonce.

Going to make my own mind up about it too.
Don't know how many more British GPs we'll get the opportunity to marshal

The tickets and other information usually arrive the week before the event so expect them to plop through your letterbox very soon.

I would have thought the problems of the USGP will have been sorted by next weekend at the latest.

A good tip is to take a small sewing kit with you and on Thursday evening sit and re-sew the elastic straps on your tabbard. If you do this it will stop them from pulling off the first time you wear it!

I find safety pins work better as you can undo them which makes slipping the tabard on and off much easier. Whatever you choose, they are a b**dy stupid design. Why can't they come with velcro straps like the speecy marshals' ones? Rocket science or cheapskates?

will be my first GP to marshal, so relaxing in paris with the mrs this weekend then winding up for the GP next week. The thought of sewing in the evening is nice, must remember sharp pointy thing before beer.
I feel positivly left out on the 10tenths badges front where does one purchase them.

See you all at the GP - look for the old caravan with the awning that doesn't fit. it seems to have caught the same problem as my overalls and is shrinking, honest guv.

It's my 3rd GP this year and I can't wait. Sure there is a bit of hanging around but you can't beat the atmosphere or the social side of things. Hope the tickets arrive soon I want to know if I will be close enough to the pits/paddock to do a bit of driver "observing"

This will be my 30th GP (if you include the european GPs) so i'm a glutton for punishment. Since 1975 the entertainment for spectators and marshals has diminished. Long gone are the Saturday night pit lane walkabout for ordinary spectators and any chance of a drivers autograph. In those days the cars lined up on the road which is now the entrance to the BRDC suite and all and sundry could go and look and talk to the drivers. Think Goodwood FOS.

At least the camaraderie of the marshals has remained constant and the beer has improved too.

Likewise Claire!!

I say this is my first...it will actually be my forth, but the others have all been spectating! The early starts are gonna be somewhat of a shock I think!!

Going armed with safety pins for the tabbard issue...come on the tickets, I wanna know where I am!! Sods law says they turn up while I'm at work tomorrow!
