Team WFR (for Silverstone LMS/General)
Mariantic and DSC are reporting the return of sorts for Embassy racing at the Silverstone LMS race

Don't think you need the question mark - it looks fairly solid!
Pleased about this - a good outfit who had terrible luck in 2008 and great to see them back. With the problems the turbo cars have had this year, their aspirations of maybe making the LMP2 podium at Silverstone might not be completely unrealistic. |

Obviously the WFR entry is a bit more low-key than the Embassy project was last year, but given the presence of Warren Hughes and Darren Manning joining Jody Firth on the driving strength, it certainly looks as if they mean business |

I suspect the difficulties of last year have gone some way to reinforce the notion that a tight focus on getting the car running properly and getting results is at the heart of running a successful team.
Can't help feeling that the approach they're taking this time has got the solid achievable aims that could really see them reap rewards in 2010 and beyond. |

I forgot how nice looking the Embassy car was! I hope the team has more success this year than in the past. They really deserve it with all the work they put in.

It is wonderful news to have Jonathan and the team back at it! Wish them all the best, as always.
And yes, they were/are testing in a very familiar, to them, chassis/engine combo. L.P. |

Hmm, it is to 09 spec. As a, what the heck. Is Le Mans in 2010 on their wish list? There was mention by Scott A. of "potentially additional high-profile teams and manufacturers from Europe". Is the ex-Embassy Racing a high-profile team because of its return? How many P-2s at Petit will be in 09 spec and qualify for the auto-invite to Le Mans?
Seems quite the long shot, though. L.P. |

The on line auction of Embassy assets in the liquidation sale was fascinating and it is now clear who paid about 5% of the build cost for those two cars, all the spares, moulds, jigs, wheels etc. Interesting stuff

The immediate aim is to transform the car from what it was in 2008 into a strong, reliable, competitive package for 2010. As explained in Malcolm's comprehensive article on DSC, the work being undertaken over these 5 days of testing at Snetterton is the work that would have been carried out over last Winter, a schedule designed to address the weaknesses in the package which thwarted their attack on the 2008 championship. And, whilst the immediate focus has been to address 2008 issues and to get a baseline set-up with the 2009 aero, there is an ongoing assessment of each and every area of the package. I would anticipate further developments post Silverstone and over the Winter months prior to the team's 2010 campaign. |

This is great news indeed . Im delighted to see them rise from the flames ..... too bad there is another team called Pheonix !!!
I wonder what engine they will have ? Possibily the zytek again , a Judd or perhaps an Acura . Hope they dont go the Mazda route but , Dyson seems to have them working over there . Brilliant drivers again ..... all my very best to them . So James ..... how long have you known about this little gem then ? |

Yep, top notch drivers again, and Jody really excelled in testing considering it's his first experience of a prototype (certainly the man sporting the widest grin at Snett ). How long have I known? Couldn't possibly say......... |

ive missed the noise the Embassy makes, it sounds so savage compared to the other Zytek's and Zytek engined car's, plus it was mega loud, wonder if spinal tap are in the engine bay instead of a Zytek V8, the volume is well and truly turned up to 11 |
