Average grid diff% and ranks
Ferrari, Williams and McLaren CLEARLY lead the grid.
Hard figth in the middle pack: Renault, Sauber, Jordan(Fisi) and BAR(Ville) Arrows, Toyota, Jaguar(!) and Minardi have their two drivers in the back pack. the chart was deleted at Schummy's request in favor of revised chart below Last edited by EERO; 18 Mar 2002 at 12:00. |

Thats a interesting graph. Amazing the three clear 'groups' And the fairly consistant spacing within the groups as well... More graphs I say

I have seen that data in formula1.com had some driver's numbers messed. I have corrected it and I've put the right graph. Now we still have three group, but they are: the three big teams, the rest... and Yoong LOL
Sorry for the inconvenience! |

Yes, graphs tell the story nicely...
I think it shows just how far behind the rest of the teams are compared to Ferrari, McLaren and Williams. The difference between the last two groups is not so great as to say there is a clear chase pack. Also of note, is the last two Minardi's which are clearly off pace compared to everyone. I guess it's unlikely Minardi will see any more points this year or even a top ten baring a lot of attrition. |

Aaarg! I cannot correct the graph because I don't know how edit it now! Someone knows about it? I've sent a PM at-who-knows-all but he must be in a well deserved sleep

This is the correct graph. The former one had certain calculation errors.

Previously, i always criticize Yoong for not living up to the expectation of being in the F1. But i see that he's improving himself by being in the top 15 before the gearbox mishap in the recent race.
I'll expect him to further improve his pace. |

Yoong was actually going rather well in the race. More experience needed. He's not dangerous, so I say give him a chance.
Towards the end of the season I'd like to see the same chart but for racing - there are no points for qualifying! |

I had some time to kill so I did a graph for AUS as well... Not as fancy but it looks pretty much the same with the top six... the rest... and Yoong all on his own (Sato is out of the picture)
