sorry to say this but, knowing just how involved the VW electric steering is and how its connected via the can bus network with the engine, transmission, airbag and braking ecu's, i'd say you got justabout zero chance of making this work.
tried fitting a slightly bigger steering wheel? |

Sounds like a complete nightmare to me. Glad im not having to make that work. I would try and see if you can do something to make the non powersteering system work better for you. there are many saloon cars that dont run power steering. best of luck any way

how about adapting an astra power rack to fit the car, you could power the hydralics either off a conventional engine driven PAS pump or maybe an electric one as fitted to many of the small peugoets.
although personnally i would be looking to find ways to make steering easier without adding the huge amount of weight and complication needed to adapt power steering that foreign to the car. is the steering just heavy, heavy to turn in, or is the problem an LSD pulling the car al over the shop? reducing the caster angle will lighten the steering, whilst running exessive toe out will allso make it heavy |

good luck, i suspect you may still want to reprogram the contolling ecu though so as to get some "feel" to the system

'Scuse me for interruptin'. What motive power do you have in your Nova? Why for you need power steering? have you fitted 18" wide slicks, with mega castor angle?
I ran (still have it) a Nova for 14 years, with a 40% diff (tried a locked diff, bad news), OK on road tyres (195/50x15's), but tried slicks once, and found it easier to drive! I'm not popeye, though I'm thinking about taking spinach with me when I get out with the Belmont next - that does require the arms of the great sailor! ek ek eg eg eg!! Rob. |

2.0litre coupled to a f13 straight cut quaife box with 40% lsd , trouble with rallycross your always correcting and from one surface to another can become a bit of a hand full , plus i am a wimp , would go to gym but my gut always gets in the way of the exercise bike !!! , racing59 beep beep !!! popeye might of been a little lie ,
mate of mine reckons i wont need to wire up speed sensor !! so hopefully corsa rack might just work . |

as chris y has already pointed out, this is a vauxhall, not a vw,
however i doubt the two are that different, one of the advantages electric power steering can give is that its fully mappable, and thus it makes it easy for the manufacturers to give nice light low speed steering with less assistance at high speed, i suspect the system although it may work wont work right without a speed signal. you will probvably get a default middle of the road steering assistance, or maybe full parking assistance all the time good luck |

Fit some nice lightweight steel wheels and some coad legal slicks - the 205 i use occassionally on trackdays is a dream to drive with this setup compared to previously with bigger and heavier alloys

F13 with 2.0, not F16 or F20? Does that stay together?

The blue with white hood? Thats taunus mk2 sedan, i think (around here). (Cosw. 2.0 16v tbo).
Go "tekniikka" - roll a bit down : "Kauden 2004 alustamuutokset!" and there is one picture from engine bay where one can see this opel (..err vauxhall in UK?) corsa's unit. |
