Again another race ruined by the stupid rules. If it wasn't for these daft rules we'd have had an exciting start and the hard tyres would have meant the order remained.

-> Reasonably exciting -> Pretty average -> A bit dull -> OMG they're staying out -> Hugely thrilling

After all those intense calculations are complete: 8.

In my day the racing was so much better, I miss the days of being able to predict the winner after lap 1.

Lap 1? You were cautious I predicted most of them in January....

I gave it a 7. A pretty good race(at a decent track), but the DRS zone was a little too long.

Bit of a mixed bag. Started off ok and really picked up just before the first round of pistops than tailed off and picked up again within the last 10 laps or so. I don't like DRS and I wanted to see some battles but not to be. 6

I admit, my driver winning and having a brilliant run helps, but I still felt it was generally an interesting race, especially early and late. I'd never have guessed that podium, and the WDC switched around again (with my driver on top). Had I not been a Hamilton fan, I'd still figure it would have rated pretty high by me anyway.

It was a good race, but DRS turned 'is he going to catch him?!' in to 'if he don't get him this lap, he'll get him the one after'.

I realised this when I was watching with my mum, who's only been in to it since about 2008. She was on the edge of her seat, when I realised I wasn't. I was enjoying the chase, but I knew the catch was inevitable, whereas to her, she still felt the element of doubt.

7 from me.

4 from me. The DRS effect was just too strong, so the leading driver cannot defend, and the following driver is passed 200m before the braking zone.

I don't mind DRS when it works as intended, but when it's like this is spoils a good race.

7, extra point for being Montreal.

So, so artificial. A great drive like Alonso's being rewarded with no podium.

This all depends a lot on whether you agree with DRS, KERS and the Pirelli tyre specs. I do, so gave it a 9 for plenty of hard charging driver performances and so interesting strategy.

I gave it 8. One to look back on fondly, mainly because of Lewis's composure.

Gave it an 8. Have to say I really enjoyed the game of cat and mouse. I know DRS made it so much easier, but it still made for a good result. Lots of good drives.

I thought it was great.

The DRS comments are a bit daft tho, the reason cars flew past was because they had so much better traction off of Turn 10. They didnt even need the DRS to get past (they were 3 seconds a lap quicker!)

The DRS should be able to get cars alongside when they are less than 1 second a lap quicker.

a) The DRS definitely did make it too easy once again. You could see this in the middle of the race when Hamilton passed Alonso for the lead BEFORE his tyres went off.

b) Although tyre wear will make a difference to your traction of off the hairpin, which will alter your top speed slightly, it was obvious that the DRS was creating a huge straightline disparity. The cars were flying past later on down the back straight by which time the traction difference wouldn't have made such a difference.

c) Yes, the other cars were between 2-4 seconds a lap slower once their Pirelli's went off the cliff. The DRS wasn't needed with such a big performance difference already in place thanks to the tyres.

The art of defensive driving has been lost because of 'the show'. The DRS spoiled what was otherwise an initially-dull-but-sort-of-became-exciting race. 4 from me. That wasn't motor racing.

KERS I don't mind as everyone has it (bar Marussia and HRT) and tyre wear, although synthentically accentuated now, has always been a part of longer distance racing. However, when the car in front has no means of fighting back against the ridiculous advantage of the car behind it ceases to be sport.

4 from me.

Nearly the overtaking on the straight, DRS ruined this race.

DRS allowing overtaking as you ENTER the straight is a joke and NOT what was intended.

One of the dullest Canadian GP,s I can recall.

Must do better
