Le Mans 2003

I know I'm starting this thread a little early and I said I was going to go this year...BUT! I will definitely be going in 2003!!!

I have spoken to my boss and should be able to get time off (only 3 weeks though) and I'll go to Le Mans and a few other places and see some people etc.

Well done, thats dedication coming from down under. I am sure you'll think its worth the trip.
Remember to book your seats early and if your travelling through the UK you will need to book the ferry / travel early and the best routes get very full.

I'm gonna have to wait and see when my Uni year finishes. Hopefully I'll be alright. If I miss out for the 4th year in a row because of exams I'm not going to be a very happy bunny....

Mal, I wouldn't be going if I didn't think it was worth it.

And if someone can email me a list of things I'll need to have/do/prepare/etc to get/be at the race, I would be extremely happy (and might even get you a drink if you're at Le Mans)

RD Are you Mad - MRI charge well over the odds for very little - If you are up for going get you hands on an ACO 2002 booking form cross out 2002 and put 2003 and book it now by fax.

Same with the ferries and I bet you save upwards of £80 quid a head based on 4 people travelling together!

Has anyone traveled from the colonies with F1 Tours. I'm thinking about it but would like any insights?

I've already sent an e-mail off to the ACO and had a confirmation letter back from them! but experience tells me that this can be worth very little - esp. as they won't/can't confirm the date, cost, etc...!!

I've got a 2002 e-mailed booking form if people want.. PM me and I'll try and oblige by sending it on..

I got all kinds of confirmation letters from them in 2002 and no tickets. The year before I had to raise Hail Columbia Happy Land with them to get the tickets 1 week before we left. Unless you are getting the top line tickets (such as Pitwalk tickets or a particular grandstand) you are much better off buying them when you arrive.

And if you want to camp, you can camp with us for a lot less than some people and we have satellite television!

What are the dates for Le Mans in 2003? I'm predicting that I'm going to have to miss it... again...
