MrGoldenEra should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1980's FF1600

Hello all,

I am currently in the process of building a website to capture information and memories from what was possibly the best era in national single seater racing, 1980's FF1600.

If you or anyone you know owns a 1980's FF1600 chassis it would be great if you would be prepared to add the details to the register so that we can see which cars are still out there. Any other contributions to the site, such as photos, memories, stories etc from that time would also be great.

Come on guys lets get together and re live that golden era!

The website address is: www.goldenera-formulaford.com

Best regards,

Mr Golden Era

Great idea, you've got my details. Be awesome if the register does fill up, probably some interesting history behind a lot of the cars still racing.

Always seems a shame to me that 80's FF's fall in between racing categories, even though it was arguably the most popular era for them. They're not quite classic and don't quite have the pace to keep up with anything post 1990 (that's my excuse anyway). I know there's a couple of pre-90 classes but imagine a full grid with just 80's FF's? Probably a lot of these 80's FFs about and would be good not to see them go to waste on hill-climbs or just forgotten in garages because people can't race them competitively and go for overall wins.

Brands Hatch is the place to be this weekend for all your information gathering and WHT Silverstone in particular 6/7th November.

If you're on Facebook... check out the group 'Heros of FF1600'... there's a ton of material there. It might be worth making contact with Wayne Pearson who runs that group to see if you could collaborate in some way or other.
