Renault on the up
How quick is that Renault! Mega. Half a second quicker through the middle sector! The loss of time up the hill in the third sector substantiates their claim to be very much down on power.
They'll be very strong at Barcelona - shame that the others may well have caught up by then. Alonso deserves a thread on his own - fantastic stuff... until the end! |

Agreed. Renault is very fast which makes me happy since Alonso and Renault are my fantasy picks.

The constructor's championship standings look really odd now. Renault well ahead of Ferrari?? I don't know how long it will last, but Renault sure is making a good show. With word the cars will get more horsepower next race, they might even generate more surprises.

Wahaaaayy.
A serious challenge is here to stay - I hope! Well done Alonso for fighting through despite the setbacks today - trust he's OK. The light fuel load quips by some concerning grid positions are looking like they are backfiring. |

Renault have the best chassis after Ferrari and Mclaren in my book..if they can get a little more horsepower then they should beat Williams BMW by the end of the season.

I think they've currently got a roughly equal chassis to McLaren - the engine is making the difference against them. But, they've shown impressive pace, although slip-ups liek sending Alonso out on slicks shouldn't be happenign from a top-line team. I hope Fernando's okay. Who would eb the stand-in?

here's hoping the reliability of the Jags hold too. Webber's Jag was competitive, and hoping Sauber does well; always been a sentimental fav for me...But well done Alonso and Renault (hope also he's up and racing in the next round).

Considering the horsepower defecit and their supremacy through the twisty bits I'd have to conclude that they have The Best chassis. Speed through the corners presumably being the key criterium by which a chassis is judged.

This appears as though it could be a season of upsets with the Renault's, Jordan's & Jaguars all finding form & mixing it quite competitively with the big three.
