It's going to be a busy weekend, but maybe not for Race Control (it possibly will still).

I see we're back to last minute qualifying. Less than 3 minutes to go in the final run, they all come out at once. This used to happen years ago and I thought the FIA and the teams had addressed this. People pay over the top to watch F1 cars on track, and finish up being short changed. Ridiculous.

There's been plenty of it (last minute Q runs) in recent times but more prevalent for sprint qualifying, because they have less tyres available.

At one point on Friday I thought Max or RB might consider protesting the new gravel if they were behind their main rivals!

I see Super Max won the sprint race, which I completely missed but then I'm not a fan of them. However, I am looking forward to qualifying later on today, for Sunday's Grand Prix race, as well as the race itself. I'm interested to see how the changes to the track will effect track limits.

I don't know what's happened to Aston Martin. Stroll out in Q1 though I'm not that surprised, but Alonso out in Q2.

Hasn't Alonso expressed his frustration about the ongoing development of the car; it would appear that the other teams have made improvements whilst the Aston Martins have pretty well stood still.

I thoroughly enjoyed qualifying. Super Max takes pole in the slowest car on the grid. Bad luck for Oscar Piastri, who got caught out by track limits and drops from 3rd down to 7th. Charles Leclerc can breath a sigh of relief, thanks to Oscar Piastri's misfortune, as his off roading nearly cost him and he now moves up to 6th.

Max has the slowest car and he has won everything this weekend. How's that possible? Is he a superhuman?

An excellent start for Verstappen. Not such a good start for Leclerc, who damaged his front wing and is forced to pit.

Verstappen's pitstop didn't quite go the way he would have liked and has lost time over Norris.

Every time Norris starts to get my attention and enjoy his driving the same radio whinging completely ruins it. The constant he moved nonsense meant I turned it off at lap 61, couldn't handle more. Lando, you can't be on the inside AND make the corner when you're going straight off

Don’t know if it went out on the sky feed around the world, but Ant Davidson on the Skypad, just dissected the 3 instances and it’s very clear Max was moving in the breaking zone.

Put under real pressure and the original Max 1.0 returns

I watched the race but couldn't get the commentary from Sky, so I had to listen to BBC Radio 5 Live and one of the commentators said the same thing about Max.

It was a great fight and I'm confident they both enjoyed it. Not the outcome of course...
