Who will you be cheering for in 2002
Personally, I am hoping that this will finally be Dario's year to take the championship, any thoughts?.

Every year I root for Michael Andretti and generally (every year other than 1991) wind up a bit disappointed at season's end. Looking at the overall field though, I would say that 2002 looks really good for Michael.
Papis and Moreno are two other drivers that I like, but they may not even be in the series in 2002, and certainly not in a top team if they are. But, if you forced me to make a prediction on the championship right now, I would say it goes to daMatta with strong competition from Andretti, Brack and Franchitti. Of course, I'll still be rooting for Andretti.... |

Not to stir up old wounds, but I've always rooted The Captain.
I'll be rooting anybody other than Brack. Or Andretti. Something about Brack I don't like, just can't put my finger on it. He's a clean racer and all, there's just something... Too bad, I like Rahal. Never have liked Andretti Jr. Strange. Love his old man. But I'll give him credit that he hasn't been so much of a whiner and finger-pointer for the last few seasons. I'll be cheering for Dario and Vasser, I guess. Never really thought about it. Wouldn't take much for me to jump on the Tracy bandwagon, either. Canadian, eh? Carpentier and Tags too, for that matter. Who you're rooting for and who you realistically expect to win the championship are two different things, so I'll be rooting for Servia again this year, too. Gonna be strange without Roger. |

I've been a Team Kool Green fan since I started following Indy Cars and would like to see Paul Tracy take the championship with Dario coming second - however the reverse would still be heaps cool.

Bruno because I like him and a lot of people think he's not as good as he is -- and da Matta for the Championship because he's fast, he's clean, and HE'S BRAZILIAN!
I don't like Brack either. He was rude to us in the paddock last year at the Molson Indy; I have the feeling he's another Mikey who believes his own press releases. I'd like to see Bruno finish ahead of him. |

I'm still finding it hard for anyone to replace Greg Moore. I've tried Papis and Zanardi...but that never did them any good. Could I be so cruel that I wish good luck on Brack??

so i'm not the only one who doesn't like kenny brack!! and for this very reason i would like to see papis do it, everyone slagged of max but he still managed to win a couple of races last season.
the other person i would like to see win it (apart from dario that is!) is patrick carpontier (sorry about spelling) if for no other reason than his rediculous haircut in his eurosport piccy, i've seen scaffolding that doesn't reach that high!! cracks me up every time!! hehehehe |

I was a Moreno fan, but now that it appears more than unlikely he won't be driving in 2002 (damn all you CART teams!!!) I'll most likely go for Cristiano da Matta, who is a very good driver.
But I don't have favorites in CART like I do in F1. I like all the drivers - except for a couple, like Brack, who is an oval wonder but useless everywhere else. I'm also going to go for Tagliani as he is most deserving of a win. |

I'll go against the tide here and tell you that I like Kenny Brack. If you look at his CART stats in 2000, Brack had six points paying finishes on Road Courses and three of those were podiums. He has also won road course races in F3000, Barber-Saab, and Renault Clio.
Surely, one season with trouble on road courses doesn't make the guy useless. |

I'll be supporting CART in 2002 and hope that they sort it out!
As for the drivers I fancy da Matta to do it if the team can keep it together over a whole season. He's a very good driver and I hope he does it. Although I'm not going to complain if Brack, Franchitti, Dixon, Junqueira or Tagliani do well. I also hope that Fittipaldi finds some more form this year. |

It seems like I'm left with Team Green and Dario to cheer on. Ganassi has taken Brack (booo!) and looks to be having Bruno (bore), Penske has left and Memo seems not to have a seat.

Since my hero, Alex Zanardi, has been forced into retirement, my new favourite (he can only ever be in second place to AZ) of the current lot, is Oriol Servia. His style reminds me a lot of Alex's. Always willing to pass, attacking the braking zones and driving with the car on the edge. He also seems to have that fighting quality.
Oriol's performances in the brand new Sigma team last year were really quite impressive. It now looks as if he'll be at PacWest next year, which will give him the stronger ride he deserves. With Servia and Dixon on board, PacWest are shaping up as my favourite team. |

I must have missed something. I had no idea Servia was with PacWest. If he is then I put my money on him to win a race.
But I'd just like to echo SILVERS95 comments about Fittipaldi. |

Dario's the man for me.
And I like Kenny too - he's not my absolute favourite, but I do like him. Then again, I'm a Scandophile, so probably a bit biased. Who else? Servia, Vasser, da Matta, and Moreno if he's around. |

Moreno is gone (good)
Servia favourite for PacWest seat Gidley could be at Rahal Papis at Sigma Maybe I will have more drivers to cheer, than I thought I would. |
