Joyce George should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bill Boddy Books

Hi all
I have the sad job of clearing a house out, and have come across Volumes 1, 2 & 3 of Bill Boddy's series on Brooklands. Vol 1 is a little faded, but the others are in good condition. Does anyone have any idea of where I could sell them, to pass on a little money to the family, who are not well off?? A rough estimate of price would be good as well!!
Thanks in advance.

Why not try the VSCC library, they may be able to give you a valuation, or at least point you in the right direction.
In my experience a very helpful and friendly bunch.

could do worse than give a couple of specialist bookshops a call - Pooks for one - http://www.pooksmotorbooks.co.uk/
trawling ebay completed sales shows they sell for a B-I-N of about £30 a copy.
Are they 1st editions, or better still, signed?

Take care!

I had a similar task on behalf of the widow of a very close friend a few years back. In this case it was railway books.

Perhaps a good starting point would be to contact this motor sport specialist secondhand book seller and seek an opinion.

Certain used books are worth loads of dosh!

For example, try and buy a copy of Tony Rudd's book, "It was Fun! My Fifty Years of High Performance".

A second mortgage might be useful!

They are just the MOST fantastic read, So have decided to throw £100 in to the estate for them! Not sure if they are 1st editions- state they are 1st impressions, dated 1948, 1949 and 1950.
I really like the 1912 rule that states if a driver sees a yellow flag, they must stop and ask the official for guidance!

Not much on here actually makes me laugh out loud! That did and should be included in the MSA revised flag rules
I think you've offered a fair price and trawling through eBay etc. is quite an eye opener on the value of some 'out of print' books - I must make sure that mine are included in my will

I used to enjoy a beer years back, with a dear old lad who was an early RAC timekeeper and enthusiast, John.

He most kindly gave me a few books from his vast collection.

Don't underestimate the value of specialist books!
