Peter Harding should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Silverstone Birkett relay 26th Oct

The finals are out and it looks like it will be busy as there are 63 teams up to now. Still time to volunteer for this annual spectacle on the GP circuit.

Me too. Has better weather been ordered for this year? Last year was remarkably cold and the previous one I seem to remember being wet. I'd like a bit of sunshine this time, please.

I'm doing incident at Silverstone for the first time having done mainly pits/startline at silverstone, and having done a few days of incident at other tracks.

Should be fun, will make a change from walking down the pitlane asking for new cars to be sent out

Nina will be much busier indeed - she probably won't stop all race long. It is a bit of a myth to think that S/L only grid up the cars!

What are you short of most*, Pete? I may try and make it (though no promises yet).

One day/year we will do this event.

Alas not this time, me with my "C" and Bill had his cataract done on Monday so not driving and seeing is a bit "iff". Hang on, does that make him ideal Observer material?

All the best to everyone as the weather is not looking too good. Refer to other thread about waterproofs!

How does that work then - I thought Silverstone GP Circuit was licensed for a max of 58 starters? Will there be 12 disappointed teams after qualifying?

No, the Permit issued by the MSA for the event specifies the number of starters, in this case I believe it's 72.

The MSA has discretion in such matters, using things like speed of cars and length of race etc etc.

... and of course a rolling start also allows for a larger grid.
