Louis B. should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Jeres' testing: Dec. 7th to 18th

Back to hard work for all the teams except for Toro Rosso. There will be f1 cars on the circuit on each of those dates except for Monday the 12th. Dec 17th will be a wet tyre day for the sole Bridgestone cotenders while the 18th will be dedicated to the Michelin teams. Reportedly, JV will be testing for BMW on the 8th, 9th & 10th while I assume NH will take over for the 13, 14 & 15th second session for BMW.

For more details see: http://jv.flagworld.com/en/news/inde...tid=53246&pg=1

If anyone of you knows who will be testing what in terms of chassis and engines, please let me know.

I'm not sure Sauber ever tested with more than one car per test session last year. I was expecting BMW to up the testing program and run two cars. Guess not?

You still need to have two cars fitted for and enough V8 engines ready to do that. The fact that they are testing for a total of 6 days (possibly 7 if they also participate to the wet tyre tests) within the next 10 days is already an improvement toward the Sauber days.

Montagny finished first ahead of Kovalainen today. Both were running their Renault fitted with restricted V10 engines. This must have put a smile on Montagny's face.

Gene, testing for Ferrari, finished 2nd overall but 1st amongst those running with a V8. This is promiseful for Ferrari.

Interesting that Luca Badoer was testing a 2005 car conforming to next seasons V10 regs.Well he was until its suspension failed.

Another source stated that Kovalainen ran a V8, although that may have only been for a brief period, or simply not true.

I am looking forward to having a look at today's results. Is there a site with live results or where results are released first?

Oh well, at least he got some laps in. That's what is important at this stage especially after an apparent mechanical problem showing up in the installation lap.

It's just another typo. This is nothing in comparison with my famous Camry / Accord "blooper" on this forum which still comes back to haunt me from time to time.

a good time from button and the toyota's these two teams have certainly been the fastest of the V8's in these very early test sessions. i've also noticed that Honda has been constantly doing the most laps (or near the top) with the V8 concept car of the V8 runners

Interesting to see Ryan Briscoe's pace ......

Comment from Mike Gascoyne:

"I have to say that considering Ryan has not driven an F1 car for a year and that this was his first time since his huge shunt in the IRL he's done an excellent job over the two days, both in terms of consistency and speed. So I congratulate him for conducting an excellent two-day test programme at very short notice."

Time for Zonta to go surely..... with no IRL program Toyota have to make a choice whether Briscoe has a future with the company or not...

afaik Briscoe knocked back a race seat at Jordan in preference for IRL... But you'd think his overall goal would be F1.

That is a LOOOOONG way from happening Hazza. There is a small chance, and they have offered him some serious cash to go there.

But doing that will pretty much cease any relationship he has with Toyota - which he is obviously reluctant to do.

Hence the rumours of Japan ...... or Europe.

In any case, Zonta has been named test driver for another year. Panis has been less enthusiastic .....

Zonta signed a new contract just a couple of weeks back.

Olivier Panis has not been in the best of health recently, so it may be he'll decide to retire - although, that said, he was also confirmed at the team for this season at the same time as they announced Zonta.

I was looking at some pics of the BMW-Sauber and didn't see "BMW" on the car anywhere yet (aside from the obvious-BMW V8). Figured it would be on there somewhere, even if not prominently displayed. Will they wait for the launch to do this then?
