Bigpond subscription is not required to clarify, it is available for all. It's quite unclear when the racing will actually be on though, no listings on the bigpond site.

Pity the video it is showing on there now (while the race is on in Abu Dhabi) is one from last year!

Have the wheels fallen off "the Greatest show on wheels"

Is it just me or should V8 Supercars hang their heads in shame after not having live timing running and for not showing the race live?

I think its a terrible way to start the season and a turn off for the fans who thirst for information on the sport

Am I being too critical?

If you ask me they never had any wheels to make it a great show.

Very amateur hour really, but the delayed telecast shouldn't come as a shock given how they treated Footy and Tennis fans in the recent past. The litany of problems regarding scheduling and race formats cannot have helped either.

Maybe a bit!

Live Timing (x-box style) has been working for every session since Practice 1. (ie. P1, P2, P3, Q1, Shootout, R1)

Bigpond Live TV has been working every session since Qualifying 1 (ie. Q1, Shootout, R1) albeit 40-50 sec behind live timing.

I've no reason to believe that they won't both be working for the rest of the weekend.

i dont think its a great way to promote the greatest show on earth

the delayed telecast is understandable because of the time differences, but the whole net thing is a disgrace. especially because obviously it is there and working, but we cant access it from the official sources

Starting the season offshore was always going to be a hard sell - and a big change of the view from within the sport a few years ago.

The telecast could have overcome that though - even if it had been replayed in early morning or something like that (you know, like the do with *yawn* golf tournaments etc). Having such a big delay is just plain stupid. Even a casual viewer will know who won before the telecast as they can't avoid radio etc either.

As it is, I've heard the race result on radio, seen on fb etc etc. I'll still watch it to see what happened but it takes a fair chunk of the fizz away doesn't it?

It is a big shift from orginal thinking. PI lost the first round to Clipsal as V8SA wanted to start the year off at a big event so the could carry on momentum.

Much like Daytona kicks off NASCAR.

It will be Interesting to see if it makes any difference at all to future numbers.

Are you sure peckstar?

X-Box live Timing Link: http://test2.v8supercars.com.au/live...ng/default.htm
would seem to come from the v8supercars.com.au website?

Bigpondvideo/v8tv Link:http://bigpondvideo.com/v8tv
would also seem to be 'official' ?

while i aware of them, neither of those sites are the v8 supercars, "the greatest show on earth" website

the words test2 should be a giveaway in one of them

the official site says that there is no live timing or viewing

we shouldnt have to go hunting for websites or wait for people online to tell us and we shouldnt have to rely on justin tv either

take you think everything is good then alfacors.

easy to bag someone elses opinion, harder to have one of your own

and what link?

oh wait you mean this link from the live v8 link on the main site

if you think that this is the best they can do and they are happy being shown up by the 12 hour race, then you would be happy because your expecting little

I'm not bagging your opinion, merely pointing out you were (and still are) incorrect.

Go to V8supercars.com.au browse to just underneath the latest news, and you'll see an image saying "Qualifying Live on Bigpond TV" (Yes, I am aware it's now out of date as qualy has been run), you'll be directed to http://bigpondtv.com/v8tv/ and can view the streaming.

Come back and post when you've found it. Better hurry, your humble pie will get cold otherwise champ.

sorry im there and im getting a poll on who i think will win the championship sponsored by v8x

but i know i can find it on the bigpond site because if i hunt around enough on the v8 site i get there i can find it

but i could do that last year also

But last year on the v8 site i could get timing and positions on the track, straight from the v8 site (and we will this year also, eventally)

Vut the greatest show on earth has let the inetrnet fans down here and in a race that is overseas that is very dissapointing

My mistake, when i said latest news, I meant uner the pic of Tander's car. It's to the right and up a little from the poll. Next to the V8bet promo, and above the Championship points. Still there and still working for me.

I dont have that on mine, i get taken to the ch 7 broadcast times, but as i said if i keep looking from there i end up on bigpond tv

But you are missing the point . the greatest show on earth will have a super u beaut web site that will have heaps of stuff, it wont require me to end up on bigpond tv.

But its not operational, it was operational last year in a different form

they have dropped the ball or as ADZ pointed out, the wheels have fallen off
