Pirelli control tyres?

What with Michelin leaving at the end of the year,it as brought forward the use of the control tyre from 2008 to 2007.Many thought that Bridgestone would jump straight into the role of control tyre manufacturers.Maybe not, since Pirelli seem interested in that role too.http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns16558.html

Much better to have multiple manufacturers. It would be fabulous to have Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli and Goodyear there... and even better if teams could freely chose tyres each weekend ! Control tyres remove an important variable from the equation and make the racing less exciting... I think.

well . it's good to have many tyre manufacturers .. if they are rather close in performance ..
if there will be a control tyre .. the FIA will decide it .. and it won't automaticaly be Bridgestone .

I'm all for having lots of different tyre manafacturers - therefore, they'll all have there strengths and their weaknesses. But the control tyre will be down to the FIA - as with anything, you can't just presume that Bridgestone will get it.
