FIM MotoGP: my point system after GBR

After Donington, classifications are:
Code:
MotoGP:
          GER Total
Rossi 11 63
Gibernau 3 60
Biaggi 40
Tamada 14
Barros 13
Hayden 3 10
Edwards 8 8
Melandri 7
Checa 7
Roberts 2
Capirossi 1

250cc:
          GER Total
Pedrosa 12 73
Porto 6 60
Puniet 2 39
Poggiali 14
Rolfo 12
Elias 11
Angelis 5 10
F.Nieto 3
Aoyama 2
West 1

125cc:
            GER Total
Dovizioso 12 51
Barbera 1 42
Locatelli 1 38
Stoner 22
Lorenzo 2 21
Simoncelli 15
Jenkner 12
Bautista 8 11
P.Nieto 10
Giansanti 2
Kallio 1 1
System consists of:
Race: 8-4-2-1
Fastest lap: 4-2-1
Grid: 2-1
As I have said before, I use this system particularly to know what riders are doing relevant things in GPs. It is not a regularity system, but a "pure perfomance" system. I fit well with my intuitive view about how riders are doing.

Biaggi and Puniet, for example are worse in this system becuase they are looking well in WC because of regularity more than speed or great races.

In this system, MotoGP is a matter of Valentino and Sete. In 250cc Pedrosa and Porto, and in 125cc Dovi, Barbera and Loca can win "this".

I don't claim it is more or less fair than FIM system! It is just "another point system"

interesting the 8-4-2-1 race results.... fastest lap points dont mean much i dont think - but it's your system
would be interesting to see the points standings in f1 format

F1 system is very close to FIM's. Formula one's is: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1, multiplying by 2.5 we get 25-20-15-12.5-10-7.5-5-2.5, what fits very well with FIM's 25-20-16-13-11-...

The main difference is FIM rewards better those in 7th or lower position, but it is not very significant for top riders/drivers.

More interesting would be comparing to the former F1 system 10-6-4-3-2-1, who translates to 25-15-10-7.5-5-2.5, and it's very different: wins are very important! This year it would go in profit of Rossi and Pedrosa.
