Congratulations, Sir!

Well, it might not be Sir, I'm not sure, but I just got a text to say that Craig Baird has been honoured in the New Zealand New Year Honours List.

It might as well be a knighthood as he is competitive in virtually anything and very versatile as a driver.

Well done, Bairdo - nice to see you get some formal recognition

Bairdo, if you think this lets you off the hook you are sadly mistaken, just ask Kenny or the late Gerald McKissock. Congratulations and best wishes, look forward to catching up over a few ales in Timaru. Well done young fella.

BAZzzzz c has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Nice to see Motorsport getting a mention amongst the huge list of New Year Honours recipients and to see the Brilliant Craig Baird on the list is just fanTASTic. Plugging away week after week on any Continent that calls, Craig just gets there, gets in, gets the job done, is usually AT the front, and at the end of the racing day, an easy, affable and very pleasant lad to interview and to listen to. Well done my man. (or shall we call you Sir from now on).
Wonderful news for the beginning of a new year. Luvlyjubly.

Interestingly I'm not aware of either Jim Richards or Paul Radisich, NZ's greatest touring car drivers having honoured in a similar way, unless anyone else knows otherwise?

Certainly not to detract from Craig's honour though, it is most well deserved.
