Coupes in the DTM
With the manufactures in the DTM agreeing on a change to a four-door saloon formula for 2004, How will the aerodynamically superior cars bear up? If mercedes continue with their system of only producing four new cars a year will this mean the teams such as rosberg and perssons run cars better than the "works" amg cars?

I'd be dying to see the DTM 4 doors, especially the Alfa in 05
What could change in the aero regs? I assume they will appear similar any way, a steeper windshield maybe and a longer rear deck, all in all the coupes, and Saloons should be door to door- is wheelbase going to change? and weight? |

old cars will be allowed to be 30 kilos lighter, all new 04 cars will have the same wheelbase

There not sure if the old cars will be allowed to be lighter, because the manufactures can't afford the old cars to be faster than the new ones. Otherwise a manufacture would be discouraged to build a new car.
The aerodynamic advantage for a coupé against a salooncar is very minimum. You can find drawings of the new vectra and a4 here |
