Typical, there are loads of great drivers on the sidelines, and they miss out for a vanity project from a driver who must be past his best.

Well, given the poor number of drivers on the grid, I can't see old Eddie depriving anyone; it's just one more diver who can only benefit the series.
On the other hand, as he declared hei commitment as a driver is only up to Indy, we can hope that someone else will replace him for the rest of the season: it's hard to believe that team Cheever will shut up shop after a few races. Team Owner, can you help us with some hint? |

Looks like the 500 will be the old man reunion with Andretti and now Cheever, maybe Rick Mears could be talked into having a steer.

I think this is great -- For anyone who might think that Cheever is a bit too long in the tooth, those fears should have been quelched when you saw his fine performance in the 24 hours of Daytona -- This is one more element along with Michael and Marco and the Wheldon move to the Target team, that is going to make the IRL this year really fascinating to watch

It would have been good to see Carpentier in that car because he did such a good job last season in a poor car but Eddie is back and I wish him well.
