BRSCC this weekend

Well, thanks everybody, another good weekend. Well done to the post flag chief Priory for doing your bit with that oil spill on yer own up there. And thanks to Luffield for picking up on the few spins I forgot to report - it's no wonder you thought you were me a couple of times . Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I only missed 2 yellow flags during assembly chaos* yesterday?

* By which I mean large numbers of cars that couldn't get out before the first lot came around, not a lack of organisation.

Lots of good racing, throughout, over the weekend, even the ones with the smaller grids had a couplathree good battles going on, and the clatter'ems were absolutely top notch, although if any of you are reading this, please don't come into Brooklands *5* (yes five) abreast again, as it plays hell with our nerves

Thanks to everyone for all their help over the weekend. Especially those who ended up with different jobs than they volunteered for to enable us to cover for a few “no shows”

Also thanks for your patience with the problems we had with our communications. It’s a problem we are aware of and is something we are working on to improve before our next visit to Silverstone.

Just to echo what Guinness said. Had a great day on Luffield Centre with Vicky, Elbie and Sam. Had a few spins to deal with, all in all a good day

Just to help clarify the above. With the “improvements” to the Circuit, the exit to the assembly area now only allows a single file exit, which means with larger fields, the drivers have to be on their toes to make sure the assembly area is cleared quickly.
Thanks to Fay for working it on her own for the weekend. Things didn’t go too bad even with the 500’s losing their way between the assembly exit and the track! –

You had to be there to understand what I mean.

Two busy days for me at Luffield In - good to keep meeting you guys & gals in the middle of the track for plenty of hard work and loads of banter.

I still struggle to understand why drivers have such an urge to get home with blown engines instead of popping in to visit us for a cuppa. Maybe any driver passing 3 or more posts whilst spewing oil should be sent out with a broom and cement bucket to make amends.

To those who only did the previous weekend (as marshals or speccies) - you missed out - we got some very good racing and decent lunch breaks!

I *was* there, and I don't understand it . Srsly though, if anybody has any contacts at Silverstone, could you pass on my suggestion that a painted white line from assembly exit to the circuit wouldn't go amiss! It wasn't just the 500s that got it wrong, quite a few others steered back left at the last minute.

A good day at Copse Inside yesterday as well. Not much to do, except my first bit of debris retrieval from a live track, but some good racing in most sessions - including the sight of Formula 500s going 3 or 4 abreast into Maggotts.

We had the same problem last weekend with the Superkarts, Caterhams & World Sportscars. Ended up putting the biggest, most orange marshal on the run off pointing to the track!

Had a great day at "The Beach" (Woodcote Gap) - no "trade" - but made up for by the great company, and also getting to spy on the better halfs antics on the startline.

Luckily we had a pair of binos to see the action

Good racing - though some small grids . The 500's were just great - very close. It was entertaining watching the Seat carve his way thru the field in the tin top race.

Altogether - a really great two days.
