apparently jaques contract has three clauses:
1) he must win a race by the end of 2001 or he can leave. 2) BAR must come third in the constructors championship or he can walk. 3) if he gets an offer from ferrari he can walk. ferrari's head office have said this: there is only one way no1 and no2 will be scrapped is if jaques villeneuve gets car 2. |

Jacques will never drive for Ferrari, as it would entail an entire season of relentless comparison to his father (whose entire career was spent with Ferrari) and that is the one thing Jacques does not want to happen. And this is beside the fact that he hates TGF and is not afraid to say so at every opportunity; the idea of him agreeing to play "Lap Dog" to the man he hates, and spend the season being compared to and asked about his father - I'd guess that he would never take this job.

I agree, Liz. There's no way that Jacques will want to play second fiddle to TGF, and Ferrari don't plan on TGF leaving (they just keep throwing money at him). Ferrari (and TGF) want a second driver who will just stay out of TGF's way and hold up the McLarens. I somehow think that Jacques would not be very useful as Ferrari number 2.

JV never will be in Ferrari, at least as long as TGF stays there.
JV should get out of BAR and certainly he will fit in Renault or Jaguar, or with a bit of luck in Williams. |

Ralf's Girl,
My thoughts exactly. Who has had number 2 status at Ferrari while TGW has been there? Even if the contract said equal footing the personnel within the team are all focussed on TGW. It wouldn't work. |

It's not in JV's nature to play the 2nd fiddle to any driver, let alone TGF(who he hates so much). So I think we can safely assume that JV will never be a Ferrari driver as long as TGF is there.
