Pocono 500

On Sunday, the NASCAR Nextel Cup caravan moves to Pocono Raceway for the Pocono 500. The 2.5 mile, three-turn, triangular circuit doesn’t look tough, but looks are deceiving. Finding the correct setup is the key to victory but it will be hard since none of the three corners are similar. Jimmie Johnson still has a 74-point lead over Matt Kenseth in the driver’s standings.

That was Denny Hamlin and FedEx`s first Cup win. Fantastic.
Look for the number 11 to do good at Indy. Pocono and Indy have identical set-ups.

Can anyone tell me why this is not a plate track, when it looks like it should be compared to the current plate tracks?

Because you actually have to brake in the turns, as opposed to the plate tracks where your foot is on the accelerator all lap and the only time you touch the brake is when you go into the pits or have to avoid an accident.

Not a bad race, Hamlin totally dominant, even after the tyre letting go.

He said after he won the the Mexico Busch race that he loves the flat tracks, Pocono looks pretty flat to me.
