[VASC19R31R32] Coates Hire Newcastle 500, Newcastle Street Circuit 22-24 Nov

So the last event of the year! Bit of a dead rubber since Scotty Mac has won the Championship already. So dare say he'll be racing for fun rather than for consistency sake for said championship.

Not only that but Kiss are playing at the concert as Supercars have been ramming down viewers throats any chance they can.

I'd sooner go watch Nandi Kiss race his billy cart than the band.

Is the event considered a monetary success without the concert element?

You'd have to assume so. Concert was run last year with a lower-profile act and the event did OK (as far as we know).

With Kiss not coming there is the loss of budgeted income from the concert ticketing (although most events carry suitable insurance for exactly this type of situation) but then the event doesn't have the expense of setting up the concert area and of course the band fees.

But Scott Pye went so over the top in his first message. Saying DJRTP has been consistently breaking the rules all year. To me he is bitter.

Yes they exceeded the allowances. They have been penalised. But having a jab at SM is out of line. No respect for Scott Pye.

Not to mention DJRTP started improving a hell of a lot after Pye left.

The social media post just needs to be wrapped up in a 888 driver's quote to complete the in-joke.

It's amazing what happens when the series is not a guaranteed "Commodore Cup" year after year

DJ has always been a sook, Stevie J is having a cry and making a mountain out of an out of context molehill, and Scotty Mac is fitting into the family really well.

The way he comments about people on social media, he is literally asking for a pasting.

You'd think amid accusations of cheating and plenty of instances of unpunished transgressions, the high road would be just to shut up.

People respond to bullying in various ways.

Some do shut up and accept it, others push back.

By any stretch of the definition, Scott isn't being bullied.

There is the social media commentary that seems to be unfortunately the norm; but there is nothing that constitutes bullying.

Scott is far from vulnerable, by his own comments he invited a bite back from other people in the paddock - and he got it.

The team and personnel have been picked on from the moment they stated winning races in the new Mustang; in many different ways, from many different sources, including death threats being sent in the worst instance.

Hoping they can claim the Teams' championship in Newcastle - it would be a fitting response to the nonsense they've all had to endure this season.

Speedcafe reporting Scott Pye has been hospitalised.

No doubt the food poisoning will be caused by DJR/Penske running those special qualifying engines that allow more carbon monoxide out of the low c of g exhausts!

Can’t see Scotty Mac sending him flowers or taking a fruit basket into the hospital- maybe a signed poster of the Mustang?
