A. Suppose the FIA would have introduced the new points system at the start of the 2002 season, what would have happened? or B. Suppose the FIA would have introduced the new points system somewhere halfway the 2002 season starting at the next race, what would have happened? or C. Suppose the FIA would have introduced the new points system somewhere halfway the 2002 season --replacing the previous results with the modified points--, what would have happened? or D. Suppose the FIA would have reclaimed all trophys after the end of the 2002 season, canceled all results and replace them with modified points, what would have happened? --- In situation D, the answer can very easily be calculated. If I remember correctly, the answer has been posted more than once on this forum. In situation A, everybody involved knows beforehand how the points can be won. So we would probably have gotten approximately the same results at the top of the WCC and WCC lists. For the individual races we would have seen much less overtaking within the top 6, and more overtakings around positions 7-9. In situations C and D, there would have been massive protest by the teams. |

There wouldn't have been big changes at the top, only in minor positions

one big change has to be minardi losing a spot in the constructors that could have meant 2 less cars on the grid this year

So it looks like nothing will change this year due to the new points system. Lets hope the qualifying can do the trick!!!
