According to a report on Autorace.com Telefonica has confirmed its support for Gene and his F1 career, and Gene has said that he wants to stay with Minardi as they have the Supertech engine next year.....
Not sure how true this is, but I hope it is. |

Experimental Renault Engine
The same article goes on to say that Renault will also supply an experimental Engine for Beneton. I think it would be much more sensible to supply the experimental engine to Minardi, as I think this is where Renault should concentrate their efforts with a view to having Minardi as the full works Renault team in 2002.

Gene has the SUPPORT of Telefonica, but they do not pay for his seat, just Repsol SUPPORT De La Rosa but do not pay for his seat - unlike Parmalat who PAY for Diniz's drives.
