If the British Superbikes are, as is often claimed, the best series in the world, how come the wildcard entries to the World Superbikes aren't up there winning ? In Japan, they're always swamping the top places, so how come they're not at the British rounds ?

The Japanese series get the best bikes. Simple as that. Though the American series is a good championship, just look at the riders who have come from there.

Shame the Australian championship lags behind all three of them.

The US, Canadian and Aussie Super-Bike rules are terrible for the riders, when compared to the Japanese rules and equipment. The leap from the much slower and ill-handling (by the rules) equipment to WSB is just too huge.

I can't comment on Aussie or Brit Superbike, but US Superbike is kept cost controlled. A pure World superbike would never pass scrutineering at an AMA Superbike event. The only times the US teams are allowed to pull out all the stops is when the World tour comes to Laguna Seca and the rules are relaxed to level the playing field. But, then it is difficult to get 100% out of a one-off bike against a guy who is probably better and has been racing his machine all season long. Another thing that makes the Japanese so diffcult on their home soil is that they use those same tracks all of the time and the WSBK guys rarely get any time on those particular circuits. Bring all the Japnese riders to Kyalami or Jerez and see hwo dominates the precedings.
