Top Endurance Races?

I've made a little list of some endurance races I'd really like to marshal at some stage. Are there others of similar caliber that I'm missing?

There's not national endurance races in Argentina, Brazil or much less Chile.

The 6 Horas Peruanas and 6 Horas de Bogotá are the only two that I know in South America. Then there's the 24 Horas de México.

So Mil Milhas isn't run anymore in Brazil? Or did that effectively become the WEC round?

On-and-off depending on the funding of the teams and of the series, this year and in 2010 (I think) the 24h race was replaced by a 6-hour event.

The Mil Milhas was the national endurance race, featuring the top Brazilian drivers. The 6 Hours is an international race.

kind of different category from the Protytpe + GT racing isn't it?


I'm quite excited about my next big trip that starts tomorrow... 3 race weekends back to back to cross off a few more enduros from the list above:


6 hours of Bahrain (WEC)
3 hours of Sepang (Asian Le Mans Series)
Gulf 12 hours (what GT series sanctions this?)

I'm going completely broke and will surely be drowning in debt after, but I cannot wait for the experience

Lovely collection of races to go to - envious.

I've long held a torch for the Vallelunga 6 Hours. It's not the same now we don't get to see prototypes there, but back around 2007/2008 when I was doing a bit of work in Italy I always aspired to try and get to it and never did - big regret there.

Zandvoort 12H (3h on Friday + 9h on Saturday due to noise restrictions), May 30/31 2014, part of the expanding Creventic series (Dubai + Barcelona 24H, Mugello 12H, etc.).

G'day Russ you could do both Bathurst's races the 12hr for GT's in FEB and the 1000 for V8's in OCT.

The African 3 Hours is on 19 July, at Midvaal. Not sure it's enough of a race to justify the trip...

if I can pair it with another event in Europe or Asia, or Australia/New Zealand; it'd be well worth it... though July is too soon. I need to work off my debts from chasing races to marshal for the last three years... and working two days a week part time (weekends) it's going to take me a while... I sure miss it though! And to be frank two days flying, a day sightseeing and three days racing/marshaling... followed by a day flying, a day sightseeing and the weekend marshaling is super awesome! the last trip to the Middle East (Bahrain > Sepang, Malaysia > Abu Dhabi, UAE) was absolutely awesome... everything went like clockwork!

The Malaysia Merdeka race at Sepang is another prominent 12H hour race.

And for something COMPLETELY different, Silverstone on a cold, damp, November weekend, you have the Birkett Relay. 6 Hour relay race, for whatever folks want to race. I've seen a 935K3 on track with 1920s Bentleys, Morgan 3 wheelers, Frazer Nash, Lotus 7s (In all their various forms) and assorted saloons.
It is pretty much unique.
If you are about anyway, worth a go. Not worth a trip on it's own, for sure.
