RBR again. That car is incredible in Max's hands.

Mercedes for me. Only question mark is if they messed up Hamilton or was Russell more pro-active? I think Max was winning the race either way. This was Mercedes' most competitive race of the season. They beat both Ferraris and Perez on merit.

RBR or Mercedes? A close call. But Mercedes would have had a better result if it weren't for the VSC and safety car, whereas RBR got the lucky break. So, Mercedes.
Plonkers of the Race is also a two horse race. Ferrari showed their experience by first leaving a tyre in the garage, putting a wheelgun way out in the firing line, and then committing an unsafe release. Carlos helped them along by overtaking under a yellow flag though he does get my sympathy as we've all been there at some point. Meanwhile Alpha Tauri very nearly out-Ferraried Ferrari with their imaginative display. How much was down to the team and how much to the driver is still in doubt, in my mind at least. I award the POTR trophy to Alpha Tauri simply for their position as meritorious newcomers. |

good run for RBR and the red cars gave us another display of how not to run a racing car team but this week mercedes gets my vote for a good race well above expected.

I think RBR was the best team. They did nothing stupid, and didn't throw away any advantages.
That being said, Mercedes have been the ones to improve the most, and as I like to vote underdog, they get my vote today. Alpine gets a gold star as well. Off the track they seems to be a mess, but they have gotten that car into working order finally. I expect them to falter next year, as I think one reason for that uptick is called Fernando. |
