fullSPEED should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Mountain Dew Southern 500

It’s the ninth race of the “Chase for the Nextel Cup” and the action moves to Darlington Raceway for the Mountain Dew Southern 500. Kurt Busch holds a 41-point lead over Dale Earnhardt Jr., while Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson lurk in 3rd and 4th place, respectively. The race has tightened and fans would like to see it go down the final race.

Kurt Busch lucks out yet another time as qualifying was rained out today and he will get the #1 spot due to leading in points. Everything is sure coming down to the wire.

Martin Truex Jr. is on the verge of the title as qualifying for the Busch race has been rained out.

Interesting. Starting by points, hardly any practice, at the track too tough to tame HMMMMMMMMM should be a great race. Go Jimmy GO. Congrats to Jamie McMurry on his second straight Busch series win.

Indeed, Kyle Busch's crash was quite a spinner, a shame about the out come though.

What a great race. Too bad NASCAR has to dump on the older tracks so much when they put on such a good show. Why can't they call the spring Darlington race the Southern 500? Have they offered any explaination for that? Anyway, kudos to Jimmie Johnson and his team. And to Kurt Busch for somehow turning a bad day into a good one yet again.

Feel bad for Jeff Gordon as the pit stop incident cost him a shot at the win. Jimmie Johnson ran a good race and is the best driver this year by far in my opinion. In any case next weeks race will decide the champion.

I also hate to see them desert Darlington, the track too tough to conquer and today she showed why. Did you see how many drivers brushed the wall.

I agree totally. I was quite ticked off when I found out that they were moving the Southern 500 from its traditional Labor Day date but doing away with it is even worse. Cookie cutter tracks taking away from one with great character and also one that provides great racing. A big thumbs down to NASCAR on this move.
