JPM Will Throw It Away?

According to RenaultF1 test driver Allan McNish, Juan Pablo Montoya will lose his fight for Formula One glory this season he is making too many mistakes.

How do you think?

I don't agree with Allan McNish. I think both Kimi or Juan, even Michael, had made some mistakes.

Kimi gas mistakes in qualifying where he has been pushing really hard - while JPM and MS have made the main mistakes during the races. Rain caught both MS and JPM out in Brazil. MS made a wreckless mistake in Malaysia - while JPM made some unforgivable mistakes in Melbourne, Canada, and Hungaria (but he still got podiums).

How many podium finishes has the guy had since Monaco?? Oh but yes, he is too inconsistant!

Montoya has spun three times, that's true,a dn there's no defiante evidence of nay of them being due to technical problems. They have cost him 6 points, probably, as well as giving Schumacher 2 extra points. As Schuamcher also spun off in Brazil (when the track was drier, if I rememebr correctly), we can't really cirticse him for this

But what about Kimi's mistakes in Canada and Spain? ? Each of those cost much more.

The Williams car is now the best. The tyres are the best (current fuss notwithstanding). His problem has been trying to catch up form so many points down, after the Austrian, Brazillian and Malaysian disasters, none of which were really his fault.

However as the pressure builds for the last three races, JPM is not the coolest in comparison with the other two. I can see some 'rubbing' between JPM and MS, just wait and see

I think JPM really "lost his mind" a couple of times, and under pressure he can break down again. But he looks like taking a cool perspective of this final races.

Monza is going to be BIG pressure for all 3 drivers, all three drivers have been known to throw it at the wall when the pressure is on, I can't wait till Friday!

After Monza , i think people should THEN comment on the favorites . At this moment in time you just cant say it could be anyone winning the WDC

Maybe it was planified, he surely wanted to make a race
a la Senna in 1988

He gets to watch all the races.

JPM's mistakes came when he was alone and not pressured. I feel he has the same problem that MS does sometimes. When he gets into "conservation mode" he tends to mess up. In a fight JPM is the man, espcially if he is the one doing the chasing. However, when he is alone he seems to lose focus.
McNish should know by now that everything said in F1 makes the news. He should not make himself sound idiotic, he is already seen as being too slow.

Possible, tenth anniversary and all that.

The whole Ferrari team cracked that day. They took ages to get to Michaels car and throw ice into the sidepods and didn't give it a proper checking over. The McLaren guys were the opposite.

The whole team decides the titles not just the driver!

It will be interesting to see who performs best with the pressure. I think if anybody is going to crack under pressure it will be MS. Pending on the (tyre issue) if the williams performance remains the same Ferrari have no chance

Iirc, the biggest thing in this senario was that Michael went roaring off so quickly that he had to sit on the grid longer than usual.

But you were correct about the mechanics not being quick enough to put ice in the sidepods etc.

No, because he was disqualified iirc

Nope to both of you!

1988 Senna stalled at the start but used the downhill slope of the strat/finish straight to get going again and was about 14th going into turn one, he then fought through the field and passed Prost to take the title.

1989 Senna started on the "wrong" side of the track despite being on pole, Prost passed at the start and led until Senna tried a move into the chicane with a few laps remaining, where they came together (Prost appears to have turned in on him but this is a whole different arguement!). Prost stepped out of his car, Senna got going again and pitted for a new nose, passed nannini to take the win but was barred from the podium and disqualified for going "off track" (The biggest BS of an excuse by balestre to give prost the title, again another arguement!). Nannini was given the win in his Bennetton.

No, I do not think he will throw it away. He won't lose the championship, someone else will win it.

Only time will tell whether any of the contender's will crack but if one thing's for sure it's going to be a great fight to decide the WDC.
