Well currently there's not a lot of competition is there? If they had entered this season there is no reason why they couldn't run consistantly in the top 10 with a few podiums here and there.
I guess it all depends what happens next year and who else enters. How long will the 998's be allowed to race? Isn't there a rule that says once a bike goes out of production it's only a year or two before it can no longer race? |

It would be kick in the pants to the BSB, but WSB could use all the teams it can get at the moment. Although it would only be ANOTHER bloody Ducati team!!!

On the BSB, we got the first 2 rounds on TV here on the weekend, why are the fields pretty low? What happened to Karl Harris, i thought he was meant to be on the second Honda?
Will any teams be competing at the Silverstone WSB meeting in a few weeks? |

Karl Harris is running on a honda in the supersport category and thrashing everyone.
World SBK is very **** this year, and there's nothing wrong with Ducati - blame the other manufacturers for deserting SBK or not putting any effort into developing the damn bikes. |

Oh, and the fields were low because the privateers cup didn't start until Oulton Park - so all you had were works teams and guys who wanted to play with the big boys rather than the privateers in it for fun.

Watching the WSB coverage the other day I thought the BSB field looked small. Thanks for clearing that up Rambo. |

Ducati are reaping the rewards this year of their committment not only to the series but also to the privateers. Suzuki are doing a good job as well, they haven't deserted either, and have added a second bike to the works team (Iannuzzo) for the rest of the season Last edited by racer69; 20 May 2003 at 09:55. |

I have no idea why the Privateer cup missed the first two rounds this year.
Suzuki have got a good bike but when there has been more development done to it for the BSB championship than the world SBK team it makes you wonder. I can understand the All Japan bikes to be good, better, even, but it goes to show how important the BSB championship is. Yamaha have left it Rob Mac and Virgin to turn an R1 road bike into a racing machine, and as for Kawasaki... did I hear there'll be a new bike from them next year? Well past due, that bike is ancient. What can you say when a championship basically has just one works team? |

It was a Honda rider who "won" the championship last year, too, don't forget...
