They are running at Morgan Park this weekend as well. Yet I can find no mention of that on the site.

Shane, as Shane does, has been talking himself up, but to be honest against the field there, I would be far from surprised if he cleaned up.
You should see the size of the Formula Vee field. With Shane not racing everyone thinks they're a chance |

I can't quite understand the guist of this thread. The link on the original post points to the Victorian state series. The real thundering Sports Sedans start up at Phillip Island in May at the AMRS.

WK: cavvy didn't specify national sports sedan, what it did do was suggest a certain Victoria-centric attitude towards the National Sports Sedan website?

Shame that the Hart mobile shagged a turbo. Shane Bradford was quick all weekend long, and big kudos to Porky Hibberd for coming through in the last race. Bigger fields next time ey??

The combined Sports Sedan/Sports Car handicap races were a cracker on the weekend, I know the SS guys were rapt to have something to chase. Can someone tell me why the majority of Sports Car guys packed up before the last race?? Ended up being 3 Sports Cars and 5 Sports Sedans in the five lap last race of the day. Bradford might have caught Chris Hatfield in his GT40, but for the mother of all spins coming onto the straight......
Shane Bradford set a new PB of 1.06:9 in his fire-breathing 323 which looked great and sounded strong all weekend. Must be very close to the 2000cc-4000cc lap record. Steve Pittman recovered well in his Mazda RX7 Chev to compete in the last race after laying more oil than the Exxon Valdez in the 7 lapper after riding a kerb a bit viciously and tearing a fitting off the oil pump. Porky Hibberd had a good reliable run although the 3rd gear getaways mustavbin a bit hard on the clutch..... Luke Marinelli and Malcolm Thomas had some good battles throughout the weekend in their Rotary Powered equipment. Shane Hart displayed good speed and once the reliability issues are resolved, should be a regular front runner. Kudos to the small field that put in a big effort to compete on the weekend. Must we start the season in the middle of February? Competitors are still completing rebuilds after the Christmas/New Year Holiday period, so it's always a rush job to be there. Not only that, we're closer to the equator so it's always too bloody hot. Our NSW counterparts wisely start their State Championships in March - go figure.... You're right Crash, we need numbers badly. |

To give you some idea of the times Shane & Shane were setting...
At 66.9634 second lap time Shane Bradford was the 13th fastest vehicle at the meeting, just three tenths behind Bob Roberts 125 Superkart and a tenth ahead of Geoff Nothdurfts similar vehicle. He was faster than all bar two Formula Fords with Trent Usher just half a second up the road and faster than all bar three of the Sports car field. The two Formula 4000's were faster, as were three of the four 250cc Superkarts, but otherwise that was it. At 67.8652 Shane Hart was the 21st fastest vehicle. In between the two Shanes were five Formula Fords and two Superkarts, a 125 and a 250 Single. Behind them were the rest of the meeting ranging from GT2 Porsches, 80cc Superkarts, a bunch more Formula Fords, a pair of Supersports eligible vehicles, all bar one Clubman, inlcuding the turbo Clubman and the motley rest, which includes some very rapid Im-Prods. |

Queensand series Round 2 just held and Shane Hart had a massive accident, bringing an early end to the Round 4 race, Shane was OK after the accident but it was the biggest hit seen at Morgan Park since the circuit was expanded. The car suddenly stepped away from Shane underneath the bridge and clouted the outside earth (rock) barrier of the Cutting.
Shane had turned the tables on the Mazda 323 of Shane Bradford, and despite the presence of Bob McLoughlin in the Trans-Am Commodore took pole, race 1 win and the fastest lap. Race 2 Shane was recovering from an earlier incident and was fourth behind Bradford, McLoughlin and Damien Meneguzzo's U2 BMW-Nissan. |
