New MSV Marshals Track Days

I now have the next 4 Marshals Track Day dates so please note them in your diaries.

Oulton Park...Tuesday 21/11/06
Snetterton...Wednesday 20/12/06
Brands Hatch...Tuesday 16/01/07
Cadwell Park...Tuesday 27/02/07

Please note that at the moment the Snetterton date is provisional, depending on how circuit improvements progress.

As always, if you wish to take part e-mail me at s.c.green@btinternet.com and don't forget you will need to bring your driving licence and MSA licence.

Once again I must offer our sincere thanks to Jonathan Palmer and MSV for their continued support of all marshals. I will be sending details to all the major clubs to pass out in newsletters, but if you know of other marshals who may not hear about these days through the 'usual' channels, please pass the information on.

Well Andy better just hope that Fix Or Repair Daily stays the course or otherwise you could be strapped in again with me driving in dear wife's car (shhhhh! better not let her find out!!)

Actually what Stephen hasn't mentioned about the Dec Snett track day is that it could actually involve driving the bulldozers, earth movers and grading machines to actually make the new track!!!

Terry

PS, Message passed on to Darren as requested.

Better start work on the regs during the off duty hours at the 24hr 2cv!!!

Alan at MSV doesn't think the works will affect the track day, but it was put in as a precaution just in case.

I will send a email confirming Myself for the Oulton date, the last one was a total hoot, either wringing the desiesels neck or being scared by the "pro's". Slight problem is that the 21st is the last day of the Roger Albert Clark rally, so the Focus will be carrying a lot of extra weight in the form of several layers of cack, from the previous 3 days galumphing round Kielder, Dalby etc, unless someone wants to lend me a car.......

What does one do if you don't have an MSA Licence?

I haven't even had a MSA Trainee's Grading Upgrade Signiture card thingy yet!

oh and do we need to bring our own helmets?

You need to contact your Regional Grading Officer or Club Officer for this, but do not forget that if you had a Marshal's Registration Card for 2005, it is valid for TWO years.
Helmets are usually available for borrow/hire at MSV Circuits.

Stephen,

Have you spoken with Richard Egger about him offering Track Day insurance again this year ?

(For those who missed last year's offer, then http://silkrallyradio.biz/track_day.htm

(Yes we know your a good driver, but just ask a certain TVR driving marshal after last year's Oulton Park about the price of a new front end....)

Are there any restrictions on the cars? I'm trying to persuade a mate to lend me his Escort Van (with an XR3i Engine apparently), on account of I'm reluctant to use my 106 (only 1.1 bless it)...?

As long as they conform to the circuits noise policy they are ok.

OI!!! What's wrong with throwing a 106 round Oulton, i did it last year and had a riot. OK, so the Ferrari and Porsche were a bit quicker, but it was interesting to push its limits more than you're allowed on a public road. It was great fun

Roll on November...

oh it's not so much the speed or lack of power I'm worried about - it's the fact that I've got nothing else!

It dosent matter what the equipment is, get out and give it a spanking, errrm, as it were.
Pug 106s, more competition history than you can list, nissan micra? as driven by Per Eklund on the RAC, I fully intend to be giving my desiesel focus as much as my limited ability lets me before the cowardice default comes to life! If its wet I am thinking of trying to left-foot brake it round lodge, probably, if no one is looking!

I see MSV have added some new dates for those marshals with bikes instead of cars

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/ne...sp?NewsID=1643

Thanks MSV
