Criville To Yamaha
After speculation of where Alex Criville will be in 2002, reports on ITV teletext say that D'Antin 3 Team have snapped him up to ride the YZR500.
But where is Haga going ? |

It would be nice.
Well I sure hopes that he will get some few more good years before he retires in earnest.
I watched my old videos with him, it was fun to put it mildly |

That's brilliant news for Alex and the Moto GP circus! I hope he wins a few more before retiring. He certainly didn't deserve the way Honda treated him in 01 and should have got more respect!

Criville will NOT be riding for Antenna 3 next year. The second ride with that team has been awarded to Argentinian Sebastian Porto, thanks to sponsorship by Repsol's Argentinian subsidiary YPF. Be interesting to see if Porto can ride a 500 as well as a TZ250.

yeah, i heard that porto had signed for the d'antin team aswell - but there are still plenty of rumours flying around about who will go where....
motorcycle racing must be going pretty strong if 2 world champions cant get a ride : ie; corser & criville |

There are a few options available to Crville, and considering he comes with tremendous backing from Repsol, surely he can find a ride somewhere.
Although it's been stated here Porto has been signed, I've been hearing and reading reports that they are false, and that D'Antin are interested in having an ex-WC on their bike coming with Repsol, even though Porto also has the same sponsor. IMO a combination of Abe-Criville could do well. And still those rumours will not disappear about Criville and Aprilia, although that seems more unlikely with every day. It now appears more than ever that Criville we be riding a Yamaha next year. It's just with which team is the argument. |
