Yeah, the mirrors are into a strange position.

At first sight the car seems very similar to old F20005, aerodinamycally.

The side pods appear to be more round-shaped, the long wingplates in front of the rear tyres have a double flap (as Williams did sometimes last years), while the rear wing is curved at the center.

Also, the photo doesn’t show how the front suspension lower triangle is attached to the monocoque (single kneel or V shaped chassis-renault-type?).

I'd like to be around to see that one.

Nothing on the new car that really pokes you in the eye.But i wouldn't have thought they'd spent millions on repositioning the mirrors!

Brand new rear wing, still in it's carbon fibre guise.
The mirrors remind me of a champcar somewhat.

I can't see any difference apart from the mirrors, and maybe the nose is a bit lower, though im not too sure on that...

Well, it seems fast. 59"8 is not a bad time on Fiorano, especially given the snow and that it is its debut.

I quite like the look of it without all the sponsorship over it! Especially with the unpainted rear wing. Am i the only one.....

Reports are that M Schu has said that he will find it hard to keep motivated if the car isn't up to scratch.

Reported http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns16113.html

So, does this mean we could see him walk away mid-season? I'd hate to see it end like Damon Hill...

It appears to me that the car is narrower through the sidepods than last year's car. The sidepods don't really seem lower or shorter, but do look narrower ( I think! )

This is what the car will look like when Marlboro get rid of all the other sponsors - I think it's planned for next year, although someone could probably enlighten me. The plan is to associate Ferrari with the cigarettes rather than the other way round.

Looks RED!! Those mirrors have to be of some aero benefit.
Or maybe the angle indicates:
a) Keeping tabs on those pesky rear Bridgestones.
b) Michael will taking shaves while driving to his next title.
c) Narcisism.
d) Watching 21 cars disappear to the rear.

No, I agree completely. There is something kind of eerie about the car without sponsorship. I'm sure the fact that its red adds to the effect.

The same we thought in 2004.

F2005 did have that factor.

On the whole I'm quite happy F2006 hasn't it

Very nice. Hopefully it will be on a level with the other top teams. Please no dominant red cars, but also, please, no pathetic attempt ala 2005.

I thought the other way around actually. The 2004 car looked purposeful, whereas the 2005 car looked much the same but the other teams had moved on somewhat. The 2006 car, well it err........

It does look bit smaller, more sculptured at the rear of the car, bit McLaren esque perhaps. I think the airbox/hoop/whatever is a bit of the Renault too. Nose wise it looks the same as last couple of years?

I think it's quite nice and is it me or is it actually scarlet red as instead of bright red for a change?!!!!!

Incredible!!

perhaps its just the quality of the pics, but i would agree that the car does look smaller/lower profile. in all honesty, my impression is that the all red makes it difficult to really look at the cars details.
also from the second pic of the f1 racing site, it seems that MS is sitting quite a bit lower in the car...maybe one explaination for the reason they moved the mirrors further out and onto the sidepods.

That's one of the first things I noticed too, and it looks brilliant! If it goes as well as it looks we're in for a Ferrari fightback
