I plan to be marshalling this event. My involvement in motorsport started as a spectator at the Palace as a child (I could actually hear the cars from my back garden) in the 50's, then moved on to marshalling in the 60's. I had the privilege of marshalling all the previous 7Oaks sprint events at Crystal Palace, as well.

Looking forward very much to this year's event, and hope very much that it will be the re-start of an annual event.

I might have to pop this one in my diary as well. Like Peter I marshalled the last sprint some years ago and used to visit the Palace as a young lad. I could also hear the F1's from my garden in West Wickham when I lived there.

We volunteered for this at the back end of last year - just need to persuade my wife that she wants to be trackside rather than luxuriating in a hotel for our wedding anniversary.

Good luck - I tried that for our forthcoming silver anniversary - it didn't work!

I hoping to do this one, sent off for S&DMC membership last week as I'd like to do a few of their events.

Does the Crystal palace event allow modern cars?

The impression I got was that it was a standard club sprint on Saturday and catered for the classic / vintage cars on Sunday but could well be completely wrong!

I think your application must have been received Andy, as there was an Andy on the new members list email I got last night. Look forward to meeting you at an event soon

Yes plan is for a "clubbie" day and a more "historic" day.

Anyone have a email contact for marshalling this event? The one given on the website doesn't appear to be working.

It is Sunday / Monday, with Sunday being the "clubbie" day and Monday historic.

All email addresses on the website should be running ok - any issues please drop me a PM.

Regs should be available on the website on 14th March. As you will guess, I'm sure, we recommend getting entries in ASAP as we have a large number of people who have registered interest already. Those that have asked for regs to be posted to them, I believe these should arrive on your doormat on the 15th March so there's no advantage / disadvantage to anybody.

Hello Suze

A bloke I know wants to run, but is not a member of 7oaks. Does he have to join to have a chance of an entry?

Best wishes

Being a 7oaks member won't give you any advantage in getting an entry, but obviously he'll need to be a member of one of the invited clubs to compete. Suggest he registers his details via the email address on the website and gets his entry in asap when the regs come out!

Thanks for the information on entries. We'll wait for the regs to see if the VSCC is invited

woohoo, we're in !
As double entries are not allowed I'm doing Sunday and my eldest son is doing Monday, in a standard MG ZS180 so hopefully something the community can identify with... really looking forward to this landmark event, thankyou SDMC.

Cool see you there David

I believe [stress, believe] if you were within the first 20 entries, you should have had an email this evening letting you know if you're in.
