Yes, he can potentially wrap up the title at Homestead but it is unlikely unless Ricky has problems. Even if he wins the race, it is no assurance. If Gordon wins, that would give him 4930 points(or 4935 if he leads the most laps). If Rudd finishes second, he would have 4594 points (4599 if he leads a lap and 4604 if he leads the most laps). The Rudd could win the last two races of the season and lead the most laps in both and finish with at least 4964, with 4974 being the max points if he leads all the laps at Homestead. Gordon will more than likely clinch it at Atlanta.

I hope he can . But I think Ricky will take it to the Atlanta race, unless he finishes last or something like that.

lets hope the championship is still alive at the final round - though this is highly unlikely because the "master" has been simply brilliant all year , bring on title #4

When Jeff Gordon will finish the final races at 19th place and Ricky Rudd win them all, Jeff Gordon is still Champion.

So it will be very easy for Jeff Gordon to become the 2001 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion.
