Dutch chap should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
thank you all for a great weekend at the FFF

Hello to you all,

Work, lack of time, other things, it all has to do something with it (can’t blame it on the Euro), but for several reasons the FFF was my only meeting in the UK this year. And, I must say, I’ve missed it. That was the first thing that came to my mind at the moment I entered the paddock and parked the car on Saturday morning. It is always so good to be back at Brands. it’s such a nice circuit. It‘s always so nice to meet you guys (and girls) and how nice it was that it was possible again to “do my thing” at post 5, my most favourite post. I met a lot of the old friends, was glad to introduce “chap jr” to you/them and of course was glad to introduce “jr” to the habits, the “’do’s” and don’t” at this circuit that brings so much joy in “just marshalling”. Of course, you and I know that the FFF is not what it used to be, but, at least from where I was, it was a very good meeting. Hope you liked it as well! Anyhow, Willem enjoyed it (was impressed), I enjoyed it , hope you enjoyed it, and for next year I will for sure be around a bit more then this year.

PS Took me ten years to get a prize from the raffle, Willem did it on his first experience, look out for the kid!

Hello marshals, can any of you help on this :

News on drivers - I've spoken to Andy Powell and Richard Burton's wife yeterday. Andy is a bit shaken and bruised but basically OK, the car isn't. Richard was in quite a bit of back pain initially, they've done scans and he has a cracked T12 vertebra, so will be out of action for a while. He'll be in hospital for a few days, but hopes to be out by the end of the week (with a brace).

Questions - did anyone see Richard's accident, if so any chance of sending me a PM as he wants to know exactly what happened. Also does anyone know how to contact the scrutineers who inspected the car after ??

Cheers, SP

A bit cold! To me it seemed more then a bit! And after the Festival, driving back to the chunnel quitly, getting on board the train was relaxing a bit. Nobody told me I HAD to get back to where I live in Holland from Calais in 2.45 hours, but that’s what I did. Was a bit stressed in the shoulders yesterday, felt like I’d been doing a double stint at Le Mans.

Still wonder who you are. I think a lot of the Brands regulars will know, but I’m trying to find it out for myself. Question: Are you the photographer that made a picture of the “line up” at post 5 in remembrance of John Niccol (who’d passed away 2 days earlier) (is that 3 years ago already?} that was printed in “Autosport”?

Well second guess then: you must be the snapper that came past us numberous times coming from Paddock Bend and whom I never saw walking back, but just coming from one side every time. Amazed me (humming Twilight Zone theme).

If you can find the picture I'd be glad to see it (and so does my mate, I reckon.

PS sorry about the spelling, I'm not very confident about a couple of words I just wrote

Evil Pumpkin's beetroot red face was a picture

I too wish I'd had a camera. TwoSheds' valiant rescue of the pumpkin almost rated up there with the priest catcher

Nice to see you and Saara. It was strange seeing you on the wrong side of the fence. You must do better than this next time. Give it a second thought Pinki!

Hi Stephen,

Nice to meet you too. Jr. (his name is Willem) enjoyed it very much as well. This was his first time marshalling on another circuit than Zandvoort and he was quite impressed by the lay out of BH.

New house in order by now Stephen? Back to rest at work than!

Ah, so that was an inflatable pumkin rolling down towards Graham Hill Bend in our qualifying session. Had wondered what it was (and whether it would make it onto the track!).
