FIM Winners Game - Summer Cup 2009
Yeeeees! Here we come! Lazy as always, I just (almost) copypasted the rules from last season.
RULES: ---------------------------------------------- Object of the game: You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners. Scoring: If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points. If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points. In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points. If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points. If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points. Time limit: Guesses can be done until one hour before the official time for the star of the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP, whatever it is). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race. Even if the race is delayed because unusual circumstances, the time limit will not be changed. Remarks: Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three different games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like. Apart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them. The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points! There will be two separate championships: Summer Cup until mid season and Autumn Cup in the second part of the season. In case of tie, it is ahead who has better score in the last round, then in the second last round, etc. If there is still a tie in "Total" category, it is ahead who has more points in MotoGP, then in 250cc. Finally, if all of that fails, it is ahead who has guess earlier in the last round (and here there are not further possible ties!). Example: Let's suppose you put the following guesses and the real winners are Aggarawanda, Poggiali and Gibernau: 125 = Angel Nieto, Aggarawanda, marcus (you get 2.5 points for Aggarawanda) 250 = Kocinsky, Phil Read (you get 0 point, you failed) MotoGP = Gibernau, Agostini (you get 3 points for Gibernau) (Note: excuse moi for that example. It's just a joke: I put Poggiali as winner) If you need to change your guess, please post another one (don't edit). Remember the limit is one hour before the scheduled start of the first race (125cc in this case), any further edit after it will un-habilitate the post. New Rule: Double diffuser are allowed in this game, except if you are part or represent McLaren Motorsport Limited. Hidden Rule: Bribery is allowed and welcomed (particularly if you are part or represent McLaren Motorsport Limited). [This year, dollars are not admitted] |

I forgot (i.e. I was lazy) to put BOTTY's guess. According to its/his/her well known algorythm, the guess was:
125: Simon, Corsi 250: Bautista MotoGP: Stoner, Rossi Clever, is not it/he/she? |

Rank shows: jhansen is (allegedly) from California so he knows about bikes (and he is good friend with Arnie, so better put him high in the classification).
MotoGP results saved the day for the rest of us (except kamikaze David ). Massive ties, except jhansen has already a gap in 250cc. I cannot understand why nobody guessed Iannone. This yogurt-named rider was a easy candidate (if you think about it after the race). Code:
125 250 MGP = TOT ========================== jhansen 0 3 4 = 7 SALEEN 0 0 4 = 4 asha 0 0 4 = 4 Tazz 0 0 4 = 4 Knowlesy 0 0 4 = 4 BOTTY 0 0 3 = 3 marcus 0 0 3 = 3 bestfit 0 0 3 = 3 Dani 0 0 3 = 3 Schummy 0 0 3 = 3 David 0 0 0 = 0 ========================== |

California is about as mythical as 2nd Lagrangian Point if you think about it...
But who is Arnie? |

Bizarre. It's like living in San Marino and don't knowing who is Poggiali.
------ Hint: Poggiali was a former diminished rider and sex symbol (diminished sex symbol, I mean). Legend has it that he was a champion one day. |

Welcome back btw, you've been missed. Because it was left to me to prop up the bottom of the table. |
