Also, any prizes for a 'Free Draw' on Friday. and the Saturday evening raffle held by Fay would be most welcome.

Sample Question; If Mike praised you efforts what would you get?

Answers must be printable in the Womans Weekly.

SILVERSTONE CLASSIC MARSHAL's BBQ

Reckon this important event deserves it's own thread. I'll see if can make it sticky as well.....

Hopefully the atrocious weather that hit last years BBQ will NOT be repeated. Ever!

New co-driver- Can't speak for young Mr Ryan, but I'll certainly be around for the whole weekend. Must get onto the organisers to sort out truck parking in the appropriate BBQ spot. Same place as last year?

As now find we are racing from old paddock, should be no problem getting parked in right spot. I've filled in the organisers 'Multi Preparers Form' to that effect....

Alan Crook should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As usual a big thank you to Iain and all the other drivers who contribute to the BBQ. Should be a bigger turnout of marshals this year as it is should now be included in their final instructions that the BBQ is happening. Suggested time is 15 mins after completion of last session on Friday.

Fay should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I hope to do a raffle everyday for all the marshals, and will take the prizes round to their posts or they will pick up the following morning at sign-on.

As I would like to do one each day any prizes would be gratefully received.

You can give them in to Goose, stating marshals raffle and these will be passed to me. Alternatively they can be given in at sign-on or you can pop them into race control. As long as they are marked marshals raffle they should get to me.

Many thanks for any of you that contribute to both the BBQ and raffles.

Also, once again thanks to Iain for doing the BBQ. Have you told the "chefs" how many they are catering for?

See you all soon.

Classic BBQ!

Bauble, methinks that some form of rematch coming on re: a quiz. Two years have now passed since our last 'Clash of the Titans' or was it 'Revenge of the Nerds'
There is a lot of pent up nerdyness despite my cancellation of Autosport!
Lookimg forward to seeing you all again, and thank you for organising this for us marshals.
Its a highlight of the year for me!
cheers, see you there

Mike, a warning has all ready been posted in the Marshals Forum. You will need the BIG RED BOOK this year.

Q) In 1966 Lotus only won a single World Championship round. Where?

Look forward to seeing you in action - amongst the burgers

That would be the United States GP held at Watkins Glen won by Jim Clerk in a Lotus BRM.

OK another question to keep people guessing :-

The No 13 is no longer used in GP racing but can you name the people that have used it since 1950, also where & when ???

A long trawl through the archives will be required for this one Alan, but in 2014 Pastor Maldonado was allocated number 13, Even in the early days the number was never used.

I can see you doing well on the Friday.

Silverstone bbq

Is this a pre-emptive strike aimed at nerdvania then?
Seriously though, I shall look forward to Bauble's wranglings over some food and great company.
Big red book is already packed, next to the MSA blue book.

Gary396 is bringing along four A3 size prints from his portfolio as additional prizes for the draw, or may be as prize/s for the quiz.
These are the first (so far only) unsolicited donations so thank you very much Gary, I will look forward to persuading Delta to let you have a burger, and maybe even a beer.

It is not too late to make a contribution to the already glowing list of prizes.

See you all Friday evening.

Bob.
